Collaboration: Bold Eye Make Up Inspiration

Hi!

The looks I created here is in a collaboration with three of my girl fellow from Indonesian Beauty Blogger. Usually we kinda attached to that weird and gory looks for out collaboration, but for now we just wanna create something less unusual and more appealing to the regular human eyes. LOL. So we created this bold eye make up looks for your inspiration.

And as for me, this is the look I made:

I created a purple smokey eyes look. This look is very simple and so easy to recreate. Bold eye make up tends to make your looks more glamorous in an instant, so I think it only suitable for party or wedding. Although you can wear this to do grocery shopping as well if you have enough self confidence. LOL.

The key to a good bold smokey eyes is the blending. Don't be afraid to apply too much eyeshadow, but just don't forget to blend blend blend a lot, also just focus your make up on your eyes. So be sure to tone it down on your lips. Here I chose a nude pink color. Although I kinda regreted it at the end, since I think it suits a nude brown better.

Review: Lime Crime Velvetine Lip Stain (Pink Velvet)

I think I've spent cash too much on Lime Crime products for the past three months. Never mind. I have an addiction, so to hell with budget coz I'm super excited! #helpmeimbroke

The packaging is a frosted transparent glass with rose pattern red cap, the same goes with the box.

I think it's important to capture this unicorn emblem on the cap. Yeaay!

The shade I have is this Pink Velvet.

There are 9 shades available and they are all bold, even to the lighest shade. Certainly not meant for the bashful type of person.

What they claimed:

Ground-breaking formula that goes on liquid and dries completely matte. Touch-proof, transfer-proof, long-wearing and utterly addictive!

I find out that every single word is completely true, I'll tell you why later.

The applicator is not the very pointy doe-foot type, it's pretty bulky I suppose.

Just like many other matte lip stains, it's creamy and wet when freshly applied and will turn to a super matte result in less than a minute. The shade is a very vibrant and bright pink with cool/blue undertone. I think this suits fair skin better than the medium or darker ones. Talking about the scent, it has a really sweet vanilla cake aroma coming out of the tube that will gradually fade away.

It's pretty hard to capture the truest shade, but this one is the closest to reality.

This is a super opaque result, I bet this color won't change on you, no matter what natural lip color you have. The blackness around your lips? It can be completely covered by this product.

Btw, can you see some uneven lines on my lips? That was becoz I couldn't figure out yet how to apply this evenly. Since this was made not to budge, it turned to matte very quickly, and once it dried there'll be no turning back. If this happened, maybe a cotton swab dipped in a makeup remover will be helpful. But later on, I tried to apply this using a lip brush to create even and sharp edges and that worked really well. Thus, I can say this product is not doable for newbies.

When I try to wipe this using an eye & lip make up remover.

 It's very stubborn. You have to wipe it several times before it's gone completely. Once gone, it'll leave a nice pink stain on your lips that will stay for ages. LOLs.

A bonus picture of how it works on me. Just FYI that my skintone is NC25, or in other words, it's fair with yellow/warm undertone. 

My experience with this product is a true enjoyable one. Smudge proof, kissproof, waterproof, doesn't easily transfer, long lasting. Once applied and it will last the whole day. Doesn't clump and felt lightweight, not sticky but powdery, a bit drying like most matte lip stain products, but with some tricks here and there, this won't damage your lips. Just make sure you don't use this everyday, and don't forget lip-scrubbing twice a week or after wearing this, also apply your favorite lip balm before going to bed. 

The shade is the most wearable one of this series, but still an eye catcher in this country (read: Indonesia), so just make sure you wear this at the right moment. Because you don't want some douche bags gossiping about your bright lips while you wear this for some grocery shopping. Or maybe you just don't care?

Btw, after wearing this several times ( like, I mean... a lot!) I found that this product would oxidize overtime. Somehow after a few hours, the shade will turn to a little bit red rather than shocking pink. which I really don't mind at all. Do you experience the same thing?

Review: SilkyGirl Long Wearing Lip Liner (Mauve/02)

Siapa penggemar pensil bibir?

Jarang kayaknya orang ngefans sama pensil bibir, aku juga biasa aja sih. Pake ini cuma kalo buat foto-foto blog aja atau untuk ke acara resmi, karena kalo bibir dibingkai pake pensil dulu itu kesannya gimana yaaa, dandan banget gitu. For me, ini bukan yang penting banget dan aku beli kalo kebetulan ada uang lebih aja.

Pensil bibir yang warnanya umum itu adalah warna merah terang (chili red), coklat bibir (nude brown), dan pink bibir (nude pink), karena itulah warna-warna yang paling nyambung dengan warna lipstik apa aja.

Ini kok logo Silky Girl-nya nggak nampak ya, my bad! Tapi ini beneran pensil bibir Silky Girl kok hehehe. Kalo masih baru dia ada seal plastiknya. Warna pensilnya juga mewakili varian warna yang ada di dalamnya. Simple, very simple. Lagian desain pensil mau dibuat kayak apa lagi sih?

Harga: sekitar IDR 35K untuk 0,35 gr.

Karena saya udah punya pensil warna merah dan coklat dari Revlon (review di sini), saya sengaja pilih warna ini aja. Sebenernya susah juga nyari warna ini di konter mall, ada juga merk PAC, tapi menurut saya warnanya lebih gelap dari ini, cenderung ke marun, dan lebih mahal pastinya. Pas tahu kalo Silky Girl punya varian ini, langsung aja saya beli.

Sebenernya pensil ini ada lima varian, Mauve ini adalah shade paling terang ke-dua setelah Nude. Bingung? Ya udah, buka aja link ini.

Pensil ini modelnya retractable ya, jadi gak perlu diraut-raut lagi. Tinggal diputer aja kalo habis. Harus hati-hati pake pensil model gini karena rawan patah.

Warnanya pas banget sama yang aku mau. Ini bener-bener warna Mauve seperti deskripsinya. Istilah lainnya nude pink atau salmon pink. Cocok buat warna lipstik yang bernuansa pink juga, lipstik coklat juga masih masuk sih karena masih turunan warna nude.

Begitu ditutup ke seluruh bibir hasilnya jadi super kering banget, makanya bibir harus dilembabkan dulu sebelumnya. Emang sih, sepanjang karir hidup saya (apa sih...) saya nggak pernah nemu pensil bibir yang creamy karena dia kan fungsinya buat mengunci lipstik di bibir, kalo creamy bakal bleber ke mana-mana nanti.

Pensil ini agak keset dan seret gitu loh pas diaplikasikan (apa ya bahasa Indonesia-nya...?). Tapi kalo kamu gores sekali, warnanya langsung keluar kok.

Kalo dalam kehidupan nyata, saya jarang sih make pensil bibir sampe nutup sempurna kayak gambar di atas. Paling di garis luar aja, atau paling banter cuma di gores-gores dikit di dalem. Boros bo kalo mau make sebibir. Dan efek keringnya kaga nahan.

Kalo buat saya sih pensil ini oke banget kualitasnya dengan harga yang lumayan terjangkau. Lipstik saya bisa lebih awet seharian, biar mau diobrak-abrik pake makan kuetiaw berpiring-piring. Hilang dikit mungkin, tapi gak separah kalo pake lipstik doang. 

Pensil bibir ini juga berguna banget buat kamu yang pengen menutup warna kehitaman di sekitar bibir. Jadi warna asli lipstik bisa keliatan lebih nampol gitu jadinya. Yaaaa emang sih ada yang namanya lip concealer, tapi ini kan bisa dijadikan option. 

Atau bisa juga dijadikan alat bantu buat kamu yang pengen "mengganti" bentuk bibir dari tipis ke dobleh, atau dari memble ke mungil, misalnyaaa. Tinggal puk-puk aja bibir pake concealer dan bedak, lalu bentuk deh pake pensil ini. Gimana caranya? Ya latihan. :D

Ya udah gitu aja daripada saya nulis panjang-panjang tapi ngebosenin, semoga cukup bermanfaat ya. Sebelom kasetnya habis, ini saya kasih bonus gambar bibir saya. Cup cup muah!

Review: Purbasari Daily Series Lipstick (W14)

Nggak banyak sumber yang bisa saya dapat tentang lipstik Purbasari ini di internet. Waktu saya coba buka review dari beauty blogger lain, gak satupun yang me-review lipstik Purbasari seri ini. Sekalinya ada, yang matte punya. Saya buka website resminya, ajaib! Lipstik ini tidak ada di sana, se-enggaknya tidak ada varian lipstik dengan nama Daily Series di web-nya. Mungkin ada, tapi belom update aja. Lagian saya beli-nya di Naga Supermarket, masa iya palsu. Ya udah deh, hajar aja.

Kalo soal kemasan, dia klasik tapi imut banget. Motifnya rada berbau shabby chic gitu, pink dan berbunga-bunga. Sampe kotaknya aja cantik. Ini produk lokal dengan kemasan terkeren versi saya. Sekilas mirip motif gordyn rumah emak saya dulu.

Klaim:

Mengandung Jojoba Oil untuk menjaga kelembaban bibir. Serta mengandung UV Filter dan Vitamin E untuk melindungi bibir dari efek buruk sinar matahari.

Cara pakai:

Pulaskan lipstik mulai dari bagian tengah bibir atas.

Saya pilih warna W14. Ada banyak pilihan warnanya, tapi saya lupa ada berapa. Dan saya pilih warna ini karena berdasarkan tester-nya dia berwarna coklat, mirip lipstik-lipstik coklat saya yang sudah habis dimintain sodara.

Warna bullet-nya itu coklat tua. Warna ini sama persis dengan swatch yang tertera di kemasannya. Tapi sayang dia gampang banget patah. Sampai detik post ini diturunkan, kemasannya yang imut dan lucu ini sudah saya buang dan isinya sudah saya pindah ke dalam jar. Oh ya, ada aroma manisnya juga ya.

Di swatch ke tangan, warnanya coklat kemerahan.

Begitu di swatch di bibir, warnanya berubah jadi coklat tua yang ada sedikit nuansa peach. Bagus nih buat yang berkulit sawo matang. Bener-bener warna coklat yang sesuai untuk kulit orang Indonesia, terutama buat anak muda hehehe. Ini pas banget dipake buat anak kuliahan atau anak sekolahan yang udah mulai pake lipstik. Aku bisa nebak, pasti banyak yang favorit sama warna ini deh.

Pigmentasi lipstik ini boleh dibilang oke lah. Aku gak perlu oles berulang-ulang atau ditekan, warnanya udah langsung keluar. Dan maybe karena ada Jojoba Oil yang bersifat melembabkan, hasil olesannya itu smooth banget. Nggak ada keluhan menggumpal atau kering sama sekali selama aku memakainya. My lips, stay smooth and moist at the very end of the day.

Finishing-nya creamy dan sedikit mengkilat, dan gampang nempel ke mana-mana. Untuk daya tahannya standar banget, paling 3-4 jam udah pudar, apalagi kalo dipake makan minum. Tapi enaknya lipstik yang bersifat melembabkan seperti ini, begitu kamu touch-up lagi setelah makan, hasilnya tetap akan bagus dan mulus.

Tutorial: Hot To Draw Perfect Lips

Lip lining is the key to neatly covered lips. Lip liners can prevent color feathering outwards, or can be used as a lip base to help your lipstick last longer. The final result wihtout it can be pretty too, depends on how good you are with lipstick, but it really makes a big difference.

Applying lipstick and lip liner combo may be different on some people, but here's how I do it:

You might wanna moisturize your lips in advance. Apply an appropriate amount of lip balm and wait for several minutes, then wipe it gently with tissue.
Doing this step might take a while, so I prefer applying lip balm first before doing all of my make up, and when it's time to apply lipstick, I would remove the balm with tissue.

Scribble an X shape on your cupid's bow first.

Continue the line for the rest of your upper lip line. Just follow your natural ones.

Fill the rest of your lower lip line. Start from the middle, then continue to draw the lines outward.

Fill your whole lips with the lip pencil.

If you want to make your lips look fuller, this is the time. Trace your lip pencil slightly out of your natural lip line. Don't do it too much or your lips will look swollen.
This step is optional, might work best on thin lips.

Apply your lipstick with similar shade with your lip pencil. Using a lip brush will be a great advantage since you can trace hard places better.
If you have trouble with misplaced lines, simply erase them with a face concealer, then blend it carefully using your finger tip or a concealer brush.

And you are done.

Several tips about lip pencils:

• Try to match your lip pencil with listick shade. 
• If you're a beginner, start with a nude skin tone pencil first. Once you get a hold of it, buy another lip pencil that matches your lip color that's the hardest to pull off, like red.
• Eyeliners or eyebrow pencil would be a great substitute if you don't have a lip pencil.
