I found this Etude House Soft Drink Tint when I was browsing through local online store in search for their Dear Darling Water Gel Tints, and decided to purchase this instead, cause I'm a sucker to cute packaging. I'm not quite sure when this line was launched but I believe it's part of their latest summer collection.

Review: Etude House Natural Konjac Face Cleansing Puff

etude-house-natural-konjac-face-cleansing-puff-review

They must have done something awesome with the packaging!

Sponge-nya berbentuk dome. Satu sisi bulat, sedang sisi lainnya rata.

Kira-kira begini penampakan sponge-nya pas pertama kali dibuka.

Review: Etude House Drawing Eye Brow Pencil No 01 (Black Brown)

Ini pensil alis yah, udah dari kapan gue baca review-nya, cuma tetep aja gak kepengen beli. Gak aja. Eh belakangan gue mulai terracuni gara-gara liat spoolie-nya. Iye bro, spoolie!

ETUDE-HOUSE-DRAWING-EYE-BROW-PENCIL-NO-01-BLACK-BROWN-REVIEW-ESYBABSY

ETUDE-HOUSE-DRAWING-EYE-BROW-PENCIL-NO-01-BLACK-BROWN-REVIEW-ESYBABSY

Kalo tutupnya dibuka, dia jadi bermuka dua.

This pencil comes with a plastic body, with a pencil on one end and a spoolie on the other.

ETUDE-HOUSE-DRAWING-EYE-BROW-PENCIL-NO-01-BLACK-BROWN-REVIEW-ESYBABSY

This flat shaped retractable eyebrow pencil enables you to create a pointed line without even bother sharpening it. And its unique shaped spoolie can help you to even out the lines you have just drawn, as well as brushing your eyebrow hairs. I also use the spoolie to make an ombre effect on the inside of my eyebrows.

ETUDE-HOUSE-DRAWING-EYE-BROW-PENCIL-NO-01-BLACK-BROWN-REVIEW-ESYBABSY

Varian yang gue punya adalah No. 1 alias Black Brown.

My favorite eyebrow shade would be cool toned brown, dan si Black Brown ini kayaknya memenuhi kriteria itu. Kayaknya loh ya, soalnya gue nebak warnanya berdasarkan gambar doang. Enak ga enak, baru ketauan pas udah diminum.

Buat referensi kamu, ini color system lengkapnya:

Top: With camera flash
Bottom: Natural lighting

Awalnya gue agak ragu, soalnya bentuk pensilnya itu keliatan keras. Tapi pas gue swatch di tangan, ternyata teksturnya pas. gak kelembekan, tapi gak terlalu keras. Yaaa cuco' lah.

Warnanya pas gue swatch emang keliatan agak kemerahan. Tapi ga tau kenapa pas gue pake ngalis, dia jadi agak gelapan gituh. Barangkali loh.

My shade is No. 1 (Black Brown) which is a cool toned dark brown. It looked like reddish brown on the back of my hand, but turned to a dark one when I applied it onto my eyebrows.

ETUDE-HOUSE-DRAWING-EYE-BROW-PENCIL-NO-01-BLACK-BROWN-REVIEW-ESYBABSY

Gue pake nih seharian, kena wudhu, keringet, sampe gue bawa tidur siang juga masih on point loh alis gue. Yah, tapi pernah sih gue garuk alis, dia agak pudar dikit. Intinya, dia bakal stay terus asal jangan lo senggol aja.

Pensil ini gue beli seharga IDR 50 ribuan, di mana ya... ah segen gue nyebut nama tokonya. Soalnya harga segitu termasuk mahal.

This pencil is perfect for those of you who wish to create natural looking eyebrows (read: Korean eyebrows) since the texture is not very soft, nor it is too hard. Apply this pencil using a light hand, otherwise, you'll create some uneven dragged lines. This product, surprisingly, stays pretty well on my eyebrows, the whole fucking day. It originally costs WON 2,000 and about IDR 35K to IDR 50K (USD 5) when you buy this from Indonesian online stores.

Review: Etude House Nymph Aura Volumer (No. 3/Transparent)

I think I've mentioned it before in my previous posts about Etude House products, that the company has the ability to name their products with such confusing names. I didn't even know what a 'volumer' really is, until I finally understood that this is actually a luminizer, a thick translucent oil you use to make your face look more radiant, or glowy, or dewy.

This cost USD 15 for 25 g on official web, but I bought this for about IDR 190K in @mai_shop in Instagram

This comes with a lavender box and a white pump bottle. There's a teardrop decoration on the bottle with hollographic effect. The pump itself is also very hygienic and easy to use. Please do not push the pump to deep or else you'll spoil too many product. Just do it lightly.

There are three variants: No 1/pure, No 3/transparent, and No 4/luminous. No 2 was discontinued.
The one I have is No. 3 or transparent. You can see the variant description on top of the box and at the backside of the bottle. This variant claims to give you a light and transparent glow.

Ingredients:
HYDROGENATED POLYDECENE, HYDROGENATED POLYISOBUTENE, RICINUS COMMUNIS (CASTOR) SEED OIL, ETHYLENE/PROPYLENE COPOLYMER, ETHYLHEXYL OLIVATE, POLYGLYCERYL-4 DIISOSTEARATE/POLYHYDROXYSTEARATE/SEBACATE, DIISOSTEARYL MALATE, TITANIUM DIOXIDE, ARGANIA SPINOSA KERNEL OIL, OCTYLDODECYL STEAROYL STEARATE, PERSEA GRATISSIMA (AVOCADO) OIL, HYDROLYZED HYALURONIC ACID, CAPRYLYL GLYCOL, ETHYLHEXYLGLYCERIN, 1,2-HEXANEDIOL, FRAGRANCE, CI 77491, ULTRAMARINES

*Please note that according to its official web that the ingredients of each variant are different. The one I copied above are the ones in variant No. 3 (transparent).

The consistency is some thick transparnet peach/pink oily cream, but it'll turn to clear one once you spread it. So it won't affect your foundation/BB cream shade. There's a hint of sunflower smell, but not too strong. There is no shimmer or glitter at all. Just a plain oil cream.

*******

HOW TO USE

The first method is by mixing the volumer with BB cream with 1:3 ration. 1 one the volumer, and 3 for the BB cream. I would suggest you using the foundation or BB cream that has a matte result if you don't want to overdo it.

The result on my hand applied with BB cream and volumer is way more greasy/dewy.

Unfortunately, I've done this first method and apparently it didn't went pretty well. For the record, my skin type is normal to oily. And the result on me was way too greasy. I couldn't even apply my make up properly since they refuse to be absorbed by my super greasy skin at the time. My blusher, eyeliner, eyebrows were a complete mess. But if you insist on doing this method, please remember, DO NOT EVER apply this product to your eyelid. It's a very stupid thing I did anyway.

The second method is by using this as a highlighter. After doing all of my make up, I simply dab the products with my fingertip, onto my cheekbones, nose bridge, forehead (near my upper eyebrows), chin, and my cupid's bow. I just dab them in a very small amount to avoid the super greasy result. And turned out this method suits me better. I do this method for my daily makeup.

Some of the result:

This product is wearable for a tan or medium skintone as well.

Unfortunately, doing this method after the application of BB cream/foundation would only run my base make up, so I have to do more blending. Preferably with fingertip. Usually after dabbing this product, I would tap them again with a stippling brush to reduce the shinny effect. But if you prefer it to appear more shinny, then just leave it like that.

******

Despite the nice dewy/glowy effect it gives me, this product also leave some uneasy and heavy feeling on my skin. It feels sticky. And if you have a long hair and not wearing hijab like me, I'm afraid that you'll experience this uncomfortable experience when some of your hair sticked to your face where the cream was applied. Do you know what I mean?

For those who have normal and dry skin (especially dry skin) wearing this might compliment your make up look. I used to have dry skin few months ago, and it really help to even out those flaky skin. But I would not recommend this for oily skin as this would only make you look shinny, not in a nice way.

Review: Etude House Dear Darling Tint (No. 02/Real Red)

Apa kabar?

Today I'm gonna show you one of the newest member of my make up collection:

Tadaaa!

I got this from winning a lip art contest held by Anggie and Lina a few weeks ago. There are some ofther beauty stuff I got in a whole package. It was a massive one I got so excited when receiving it. Actually it was the very first time I won something. LOLs.

Anyway, the review of each prize will be up one by one. But first, lemme talk about this babe first, kay.

The whole packaging is all plastics with transparent bottle and metallic pink cap. You can see through the bottle without opening it. It's plastic sealed by the way, so you can tell whether they're still brand new or used already.

There are 4 variants available:

No. 1 Berry Red
No. 2 Real Red
No. 3 Orange Red
No. 4 Vampire Red

I got mine in No. 2 Real Red

This is a typical doe-foot applicator with a pretty pretty long wand.

The shade of Real Red is not a true red for me, it's more like red with orange undertone. The consistency is runny with a strong fruity scent that smells nice at the beginning. Because overtime I found the smell is more and more disturbing. Very strong. ANd if you lick it (accidently or purposely), there's a hint of a sweet and bitter taste. Just like tasting food coloring.

It is water based lip tint, so I'm pretty sure this kind of lip tint will make my lips dry, so moisturizing is highly recommended, at least for me.

***

To see the swatch on my lips, I'll show you in this pictorial of how to use this for your everyday make up routine:

Prepare your lips.
Moisturize it with lip balm. You can add some lip concealer if you want to, which I chose not to.

Apply a small amount at the inner part of your lips like this.

Using your finger, dab the liquid slowly to blend the lip tint with the warmth of your lips.

The step is actually done here. But for a more 'catchy' look, you can do this:

Just put the lip tint to the whole part of your lips using the applicator. Simple, right?

And, this is how it looked like under natural lighting.

 ***

COLOR (4/5)
Very pretty! It can really brighten up your look in an instant. I think the shade No. 2 is the most natural result among all four since this is the natural lip color of most people. Just like I said, it's red with orange undertone, but the color is more like red rather than orange.

FINISHING (5/5)
Since it's a lip tint, it doesn't look glossy, creamy, nor matte. It's absorbed by your lips just like that, so what other people see is your red natural lip color. Great, isn't it?

FORMULA (2/5)
It's drying my lips although I put moisturizer in advance, maybe becasue it's water based. I'd say oil-based lip tint works better on me.

LONGEVITY (2/5)
Average, or rather poor. It'd only need less than two hours for me before the color's gone. IDK, maybe because it's sweet, I licked my lips a lot. LOLs.

PRICE (5/5)
The price is budget friendly. Many online stores would offer it from about IDR 50K to IDR 70K (USD 5), it may varies depends on the store. So make sure to browse enough.

Btw, I used to review similar product with different shade:

Check the review here.

Review Etude House Color Lips-Fit (PK004 & PP501)

Hi,

I need to wait for about two months to finally get these berry babes. Just a gentle reminder that I have reviewed several series of Etude House Color Lips Fit. You can check out the review here and here. So the total would be 5 shades!

I just wouldn't write much about the packaging since I already mentioned it on my previous posts. But just wanna tell you that these were actually part of Color Lips Fit Lock N Summer series, but somehow Etude House finally combined all the summer and spring series together.

The shades I got are PK004 (Pretty Fit Hot Pink) and PP501 (Brave Fit Berry).
These are the latest shades. It was so hard to find these two, I've searched through online stores but only could find it in Zharasonline, and it was pre-ordered.

The wand is short, and the applicator is not some typical doe-foot shaped. It was oval and thin, and more bended than most lip cream/gloss applicators.

Left: PK004
Right: PP501

PK004 is a very bright pink. This color reminds me so much of Lime Crime Velvetine in Pink Velvet. While PP501 is a fucshia shade. I don't see any undertone in them, but PK004 works best on fair complexion, and PP501 for all complexions. I can say that these colors are actually sisters.

The consistency is a bit runny. I have to wait until it completely dry to add another layer and get an opaque swatch. This is not a problem when I apply this to my lips since my natural lip color is light/pale. But I think this will be an issue for those who have darker lips as you'll need several layers to achieve an opaque result.

When I first opened this several months ago, I can smell a very strong fruity scent coming out of the bottle. Nice scent, but waaay to strong for my nose.

These babes are waterproof, not easily transfer, long lasting and can be easily wiped with make up remover. Once removed, they'll leave some nice pinkish stains on your lips.

They look glossy and creamy at first but will turn to a matte result. It took more than a minute until they completely dry. If you aren't confident enough to be bold, you also can wear this gradient style. But I was just too lazy to capture the picture. I did, though, on my previos posts. Please hit the link above.

These are how they work on my face, with light makeup:

I can say that these colors can brighten up my dull look in an instant. Talk about bold colored lippes?

***

I really love these shades of Color Lips Fit series. Unlike three of my previous collections that look so neon bright and comical on me, these two are more... Humane, perhaps? They stay on my lips the whole day, more than 12 hours if I may say, eventhough I've used them for eating and drinking. They don't easily transfer but not kissproof.

I gotta tell you that, somehow, the purple stays longer than any other shades and doesn't pook clumpy at all at the very end of the day

Since they're matte, they tend fo dry your lips. To overcome this, I won't suggest you to use this everyday, give your lips some time to breath once in a while. Don't forget to scrub your lips twice a week and apply lip conditioner every night. I'd say these tricks work all the time.

My take:
  • Strong fruity scents
  • Runny consistency
  • Very pigmented
  • Can be used as blusher as well
  • Not easily transfer
  • Long lasting
  • Not kissproof
  • Glossy to matte result
  • Tend to dry your lips
  • How much: Around IDR 110-100K in many online stores
