This Skinfood Buckwheat Loose Powder are always put on the list of good face powder, especially for those with oily skin. Many reviews, well most of them, swear for this product. But I don't shop Korean beauty products much. I used to end up buying western makeup brands to solve my oily skin problem, but this time I think I should give it a go.
The product comes in a bulky transparent plastic jar with a very cute yet vintage champagne colored cap. This thing is one of the cutest one in my makeup bag. I really love Skinfood and their whole aesthetic in terms of packaging and branding. Each jar contain 23 grams of product which is going to last me a very long time.
I got mine in the shade No. 21
- Skin Beige (No. 21)
- Natural Beige (No. 23)
- Grape (No. 40)
- Clear (No. 10)
My skin is NC25 and I chose No. 21 (Skin Beige). There was no particular reason why I chose this shade, it was merely a guess. But when the item arrived I feel like I've made the right decision. It has a light beige undertone, not pinkish nor grayish, just the perfect shade for my skin.
The powder itself feels so soft and easily blended. Sometimes I also use this powder to bake my under eye area, applied using a damped beauty blender. Just for the record, this product also comes with a small powder puff which is soft and quite useful for the regular application.
For daily makeup, I rarely use a liquid makeup underneath this powder. I just use some concealer underneath my eye bag and a few area around my nose, then dab the powder. It doesn't have high coverage but I feel like I don't need such coverage for daily activities.
My skin condition is oily, and this powder does a good job reducing shine after a long day, except for the tip of my nose (sadly...). For the record, I use this powder under a very hot and damped weather in my country. For extra shine reduction, I love to combine this with Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream underneath.
This powder is sold min Indonesia for about Rp. 80.000 to 100.000 online. I just have no clue how much this cost in official counters.
