Review: Etude Color Lips-Fit Lock 'N 'Summer #OR203 Live Fit Orange

This is one of the newest of several new items that was launched by Etude House. Confused with my statement? Well, don't be. Because EH continuously launches new product like in every second before I can grab their latest one yet. Able to make me poor.

The product I'm gonna be reviewing now is from their Lock 'n Summer collection, Color Lips Fit. This is the continuation of their previous Color Lips Fit launched several months ago. I've reviewed it already, you can check it out here.

Compared to their ancestors Color Lips-Fit which looked pretty and sweet, this Lock 'N Summer series has slightly different box and bottle design. More lively and fresh, although I don't capture the 'summer' look on its design. More like a Union Jack, isn't it?

The color system.
Somehow, not all colors are suitable for summer, don't you think? It should have come in a more playful system. But that's ok, they're gorgeous anyway.

My shade is OR203 or Live Fit Orange. Of all three shades of oranges, this is the brightest one.

Directions of use:
  1. Shake well before use.
  2. Apply smoothly with tip. Lightly dab onto center of lips for gradation. Delicately apply for full cover.
  3. Apply a layer of Color Lips Fit WH901* after color for moist gloss.

*WH901 is a clear Color Lips-Fit range.

The applicator is a bit round, bended, and pointy. It is also bendable if you push it. I use the tip to draw the outter lips to create a neat and precise result.

***

SWATCHES

The swatches when feshly applied, still look glossy and wet.

After a minute or so, it will turn to matte. When I say matte, it is very matte. It sinks into your skin just like that.

Btw, what is the best word for describing this shade? Well, if you see the bottle you might first mistake it to red or coral red, but once you swatch the consistency, you know they aren't. This shade is what I would call a true daring orange.

Bare lips.

And...

The swatches on my lips:

I apply this using gradient style and full lips. For gradient style I just dab a very very tiny amount on the inner lips (which make me ticklish!) and spread it with my finger onto the whole lips.

***

Btw, lately I just remembered that we can apply this as blusher as well. I should have told you on my previous post about it but I forgot.

To apply as blusher, I just need a very small amount like this.

Then... Blend it with your hand, like this. I took this picture under indoor lighting with camera flash.

And, this is how it'll look like under natural lighting.

Although the color looks pretty on my lips, I would rather not use this as blusher because it look weird on me, LOLs. Orange cheeks? Oh, c'mon! But, IDK, maybe I'm not used to this color on my cheeks just yet. Instead, I would rather use no blusher at all.

***

Once the liquid sunk into your lips and met its final matte result, you will fill the light powdery sensation on your lips, which is for me is not very disturbing. Unlike my previous Color Lips Fit shade which look too bright and COMICAL on me (a.k.a. weird), this shade just compliments my whole appearance.

Lately I also learn that any Color Lips Fit series will only dry your lips if yours are in bad condition. I use this alone without lip balm application in advance and my lips end up just fine although it's very matte. So, take care of your lips ya. Don't blame the product if you get chapped lips. LOLs.

This one also stain my lips and doens't easily transfer unless you kiss someone or something deliberately. But sadly I gotta say that the staying power is not very good. I used to eat while wearing this and the whole color just dissappeared except for the outter one, made me look as if I was wearing an orange lip liner. Totally ugly, LOLs. But reapplying it wouldn't be a problem since this one doesn't clump.

Judgement:
  • Unusually pretty bright orange
  • Matte and powdery result
  • Doesn't clump
  • Not drying
  • Not easily transfer
  • Lip stainning afterwards
  • Medium staying power, but easily dissappeared if I use this to eat
  • How much: Ranging from IDR 100K to 120K.

Last word?
Totally adore this!

Review: Etude House Tear Eye Liner #1 (White Tear)

Hi all!

I know, it's far too late to review this product since it's launched more than 3 years ago. But in the past three years, I haven't even started blogging, yet have enough fund to spend it on cosmetics. So, I think now is the perfect time to make a review.

First of all, for those of you who are curious about what kind of product this is, it's basically eyeliner which is used to hilight your eyes, spesifically your lower lash beds. Beside that, I don't know what else this product is used for.

***

PACKAGING

There you go. This is the bottle which reminds me of the EH Proof 10 Eye PRimer bottle, unless the cap is light peach shade and the tiny bottle is made of transparent plastic. This is actually a very tiny product witha very long cap.

They are available in four shades:
White Tear (#1)
Silver Tear (#2)
Pearl (#3)
Sunlight (#4)

Although I gotta say, the types of this product is a bit confusing. Some say they have five shades (including the pink Shiny Tear), some only four, and the EH Indonesia official website mentioned only three of them (Sunlight is excluded).

I don't know about you, but I think the shades are quite similar one another. I found this when googling the swatches to several beauty blogs all around the world. Yeah, they are different, but it won't revealed too much since you're gonna need a small amount of the product applied to your eyes, and no one will ever notice unless if they look at your eyes veeerry closely. But, that's impossible, right? So, I guess you can just pick any color randomly, in case your favorite one is not available at the time.

My shade is #1 which is White Tear

The applicator is a brush rather than a felt tip, and it's quite pointy as well.

***

SWATCHES & PERFORMANCE

Swatches on my hand. The lighting somehow makes the left picture reflects a gold shade, but actually it's a pure white.

The result on my half-finished EOTD.

***

The tip of the applicator, like I said, is pointy and makes it easier to draw a thin line. But in some point, if I want to retouch the line again, the surface will look uneven. So, one important tip to use this is never to retouch the line you have drawn. The intencity is awfully transparent, so if you want to have a solid white result, I would suggest you to apply white eyeshadow on the first place.

Is it just me and my sensitive eyes, but every liquid liner always give me a sting effect when first applied, although it will fade gradually. The same thing happens to this liner, it stings although just a bit. I can bear it... needles and stitches hurt much more. LOLs.

One more thing I gotta say, this is not a waterproof product, so beware when you cry. And I gotta say that the glitters will gradually move to your eye ereas, how about you, does the same thing happen to you?

Overall, I like this product a lot. In fact it's been one must-have makeup item for me. Because I have  pretty bad dark circles and applying this near my tear duct area helps to brighten my eyes. It really gives you that sparkly effect, as if there's a pearly tear drop on the corner of your eyes. Hmmm, I think I know why this product was named Tear Eyeliner.

Verdicts:
  • White pearly shade
  • Brightens my eye
  • Sting my eyes, but just a bit
  • Not waterproof but it stays in place the whole day if you don't rub it
  • Pointy applicator
  • Price: IDR 70K to 80K, depends on the seller

Rating:
4,5 out of 5

Review: Etude House Dear Darling Neon Tint (#03/Pink)

Oh well, lately I reviewed more and more lip products, just what in the world is happening to me?

After several lip products from Etude House, now I'm gonna review my most favorite lip tint of all.

***

PACKAGING

This is a quite cute product. Maybe because of the pink content. This lip tint is packed in long plastic bottle, and sealed in transparent plastic. But I already tore it off since I couldn't hold back not to use this.

Source: Google
Color system: Orange, Milky Pink, And Neon Pink. The Neon Pink was actually the newest shade. Compared to EH Dear Darling Tint with their transparent liquid, this one has milky shades.

No ingredient explanation since there was no box, neither it was stated on the plastic seal. And, this sticker is all you can find. My shade is 03.

The applicator is a bit bended.

Aww, just look at it, isn't she cute?

***

SWATCHES AND PERFORMANCES

It's quite bold when you swatch it over your hand. There's a strong fruity (strawberry?) scent which is super girly. This is water based, if you're curious.

My bare lips.

Swatches on my lips taken in both lighting, applied as gradient lips and full lips style.

***

Overall, I must say that this product is just an extra line added to Etude House Dear Darling Tint (which is a good product as well). Compared to its predecessor (review here) aside from their choices of color and price, I don't find any significant difference regarding their texture and longevity. To my super dry lips (especially on this Ramadhan fasting) this product dried my lips, like... a lot, but lip balm application after or before this is just an easy and great solution.

Although this one kinda suck in my lips moist, but I do love the shade. It really gives you a natural looking pink lips, especially if you dab it into your inner parts only.

One question frequently asked to me, will this product camouflage the black spots on your lips? Sorry to dissapoint you, but it won't, just like any other lip tint. So dab some concealer if you find your dark spot on your lips are annoying, otherwise you can leave it be. And once again, just like any other lip tint products, this one doesn't stay long on my lips. I don't even have to eat nor drink, after just a couple of hours it faded already, which I really don't mind. I love dabbing it frequently because the scent is flattering ^^

Verdicts:
  • Natural pink shade
  • Water based formula
  • Dried my lips (mine, I don't know about you)
  • Fruity scent
  • Pigmentation: medium
  • Longevity: low
  • Price: around IDR 70K (depends on the seller)... although I don't understand why the price is almost twice as much as EH Dear Darling Tint? What are their difference?

I would love to buy other shades as well, if you by any chance have tried it, feel free to leave your review on the comment bar.

Thank you!

Review: Etude House Color Lips-Fit (RD301 & PK003)

I cannot do not want to have Etude House products. LOLs. Confused with my statement? Well, for me EH products are cutely packaged, innovative, and just like any other Korean products, some of EH items are good dupes for high end brands with more reasonable prices. (I'm talking about online shop prices, tho'!).

But since the EH Cotton Fit BB cream is a big dissapointment for me (they cost me pimples!) I have to be extra carefull when purchasing their products. So I bought the stuff that won't touch most of my face: eye and lip products. So far, this trick works well.

So for those of you not sure what kind of lip colors these are, they are liquid lip color. Just to simplify the product name, since EH is the champion for creating ones with confusing meanings. Seriously, their product names are confusing. Baby Choux Base, Conditioning Cream, Nymph Aura Volumer, etc... Hello?

***

packaging

They have boxes by the way, but no extra plastic seal on the bottles, so there's no exact way to find out whether they are used already or not. And, they are cute. The bottles are made of plastic and so are the caps, and they're pretty bulky. There's a glimpse of chameleon sparks on those white caps.

My shades are RD301 (Red) and PK003 (Pink). The box colors are basically pink, but the top part colors represent each shade.

As written on the box:
This is a revolutionary liquid type lipstick that moistly glides onto lips with its vivid color and finishes off with a weightless powdery texture.

The words powdery texture kinda reminds me of the texture of NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream that creamy when first applied and turned into matte once it sunk into your lips.

Directions of use:
  1. Shake well before use.
  2. Apply smoothly with tip. Lightly dab onto center of lips for gradation. Delicately apply for full cover.
  3. Apply a layer of Color Lips Fit WH901* after color for moist gloss.

*WH901 is Color Lips-Fit in clear shade, or a lipgloss to be exact.

And this side of the box is the only one I'll capture. The rest are written in Hangul.

The applicators are bended with a wide flat surface.

***

Swatches and performance

I took these swatches in just one time swipe and the colors show up pretty well. They are so bright. Judging from these, I assume they are as bright as neon colors. The formula is oil based and there's a strong fruity scent.

When I wore this on my lips, they are creamy at first and look wet just like the swatches on my wrist. But it will turn to matte gradually. So moisturizing and even scrubbing on the first place is recommended, especially for those who have dried lips like mine.

My bare lips, in one of their worst conditions. Dried, chapped, and bleeding easily. I got this because I forgot to wear moisturizer before going to sleep for two days in a row. Maklum, udah umur...

PK003

Applied as both gradient lips and full lips. The color somehow doesn't compliment my skintone really well. It is actually a bright sunny pink and makes my pale face look even worse. And that bright shade also makes my dried lips look worse. Oh, that matte formula... Wrong choice of color. But when I wore this on my healthy lips and added a bit of peach lipgloss, it looked so much better.

RD301

The formula is still drying and that neon shade is a bit disturbing to me, but this one look a lot better on me. It even able to camouflage my chapped lips. I prefer this one better I guess. Errr... This one is a red with a blue undertone perhaps, but with a very bright look. Btw, I only need a drop of the liquid to cover my whole lips.

So far, these lip color are not one of my favourite. I like them, but not so much that I'll buy other shades. Their bright and neon shades are a bit too hard to pull off. I have to add a bit lip gloss, or spread the liquid with my finger to make it look more wearable. I don't know, maybe it's because of my skintone? Btw, if you want to apply this full lips, don't dab this with applicator to your whole lips. Simply put a small amount on the inner center of your lips then gently spread them with your finger. Do not overdo since the liquid is highly pigmented.

Talking about the staying power, PK003 is medium, but the RD301 is great. Maybe because of the bold color, that it will stain your lips afterwards. So when I wear the RD301, my lips look even more red after I had my meal.

***

Apa mungkin aneh karena warna kulitku ya, meskipun terang, tapi tetep aja kulit orang endonesa yg kecoklatan, kalo orang Korea kan rata2 kulitnya putih semu pink gitu, pasti cocok aja kali pake warna-warna kayak gini. Jadi buat kulit gelap, emmm, janganlah, aneh jadinya.

Oh ya, sedikit tips, kalo mau pake full lips, jangan dioles ke seluruh bibir. Ntar jadinya terlalu dobleh banget. Oles aja di tengah bibir trus disebar ke seluruh bibir pake jari, cakep deh. Jadi jangan terlalu napsu ngolesnya, soalnya lip color ini pigmented banget.

Lipstik ini juga awet banget nempelnya. Yang PK003 sih standar lah, abis makan minum langsung pudar dikit, tapi yang RD301 tetep okeh. Malah habis makan, bibirku malah keliatan jadi merah alami gitu, hehehe.

Verdicts:
  • Bright neon colors
  • Best for fair skin, not redommended for medium or dark skin
  • Creamy at frist applied but will turn to matte gradually
  • Kinda reminds me of NYX SLMC
  • Dry my lips
  • Highly pigmented
  • Great staying power, especially RD301
  • Price: around IDR 110K each (USD 11)

Ratings would be.... 2.75 out of 5.

Thank you for reading. See you soon!

Review: Etude House Dear Darling Tint (#03/Orange)

Lip tint!

What brand comes out of your brain first when hearing those words? For me it's Etude House. I've been holding a lot to buy these sweet things.... because I have passed my thirties and buying Korean products is seemingly a very youthful idea. Malu lah gitu, udah tua masih ga tau diri pake lip tint. Seumur aku kan mustinya udah cocok pake lipstik merah tua. Tapi kan aku mau keliatan muda terus, gimana dong!

Purchasing this EH Dear Darling Tint was just a random idea passing through my brain, and because my favorite online shop had its ready stock. Some of you might think it's a bit too late to review this old product, but hey, whatever....

***

packaging

The whole packaging. Plastics. They're all plastic with transparent bottle and metallic pink cap. You can see through the bottle without opening it. It's plastic sealed by the way, so you can tell whether they're still brand new or used already.

Btw, masih disegel plastik boooo, padahal belinya udah sebulan lalu. Jarang-jarang aku kuat iman kayak gini.

I found this picture from googling. There are four shades of them. From the colors shown I would pressume they are: pink, red, orange, and vamp (purple or red?). I chose number 03 which is orange. Wanted to have that 02 or 04, but I think my old TBS Lip & Cheek Stain has the similar shade.

Since it has no box and only sealed with transparent plastic, this is the only description you can find in the packaging. I don't understand it at all, except for the color variant (03) and that they were made in Korea.

The brush. Unfortunately, I forgot to zoom in the tip of the brush! Oh well, to be exact, the brush tip is just like a typical  lip gloss brush, but the shape is bended a little. The shape is round, btw.

Just what came across my mind to forget zooming in the brush, but took a detailed picture of the bottle? Well, what can I explain from this picture anyway? But it's just too beautiful not to expose. Hahahah blogger yang aneh. Sorry to waste your internet quota.

***

swatches & performance

The swatches. It is verrry orange.
It is water based lip tint, so I'm pretty sure this kind of lip tint will make my lips dry, so moisturizing is highly recommended, at least for me. There is a strong fruity scent and if you lick it, there's a hint of bitter and sweet taste.
Pas di botol kan kayaknya merah gehese gitu yak, kirain seller nya salah ngirim warna, ternyata pas di swatch ke lengan jadi oranye kayak wortel, tapi tetep ada hint merahnya. Wiiii, jarang liat liptint oranye. Biasanya kan pink atau merah paling sering. Btw, ini berbasis air, bukan minyak, jadi bikin bibir kering.

My bare lips in their greatest condition. This was taken some time ago. I actually had chapped lips when making swatches of this lip tint. But to tell you, this is my natural lip color. It is nude brown. Yoi, bro... hehehe

The result on my lips wore as gradient lips and full lips, under indoor and outdoor lighting. At first application it will look glossy but once it absorbed by your skin, the appearance will look matte. In fact, if you dab only a small amount, the color will look so natural, like it sunk into your skin just like that. Love the matte result. There's a bit sensation of 'hot' feeling when the liquid touched my lips, but it'll turn okay after a few minutes.

Berhubung ini lip tint pastinya gak afdol kalo aku swatch bibir tanpa ada gradient lips-nya, maap style- gradient nya cuma seadanya. Tapi kira-kira gitulah penampakannya di bibir ane, gan. Kalo di pake lip tint jadi cute banget deh warna ini, kesannya kayak aku abis ngemut es krim rasa pepaya jeruk gitu. Oh, sok imut banget. Tapi bener deh, ternyata make lip tint jadi berasa lebih muda beberapa tahun. But I prefer full lips better than gradients.

Warnanya hilang dikit, tapi tetep kentara. Btw, penting ga sih aku cerita ini? Yaudahlah, yg penting aku udah cerita.

After a few hours, and eating, and drinking, the color faded out. I wasn't pretty sure how long it lasted, maybe about two hours. After that I had to retouch again. And the drying effect is a bit disturbing. I usually put some moisturizer AFTER the liptint application, because doing that before won't make this product absorbed nicely. It'll looked ugly, seriously.

Verdicts:
  • Orange tone
  • Strong fruity scent
  • A hint of sweet taste
  • Water based
  • A bit of hot sensation on first application, but faded out gradually
  • Dry your lips, apply moisturizer after this!
  • The color faded quickly
  • How much: about IDR 50-60K (USD 6). Tergantung seller nya yah.

Rating would be: 3.36 out of 5.... yeah that's my rate.

Review: Etude House Proof 10 Eye Primer

I usually write my article right to the point, no strings attached. But, I wanna do something different from now on. Here, I would like to review about eye primer. But before we continue, I would like to explain about this eye primer thing. Just, what is that?

Eye primer (or many refer it as 'eye base') works like a foundation on your eyelids, the function is to make your eyeshadow colors stand out more and stay longer.

The eye primer I would like to talk about is Proof 10 Eye Primer by Etude House. Many beuaty blogger compare this to the infamous Urban Decay Primer Potion. So I was curious. Besides, UD is way too expensive for me.

A little info, eye makeup products coming from Proof 10 series by Etude House were claimed as the waterproof and smudgeproof ones, let alone their longevity. You can check out other products from this series on EH Indonesia official website.

Like other products coming from Proof 10 series, this primer was placed in a dark blue glossy box. The bottle itslef look similar like the Tear Drop Liner: small and curvy, with a long dark blue cap which has a function as the applicator.

The applicator looks like a lip gloss, coming out of the bottle was odorless and thick skintone cream.

Here are some examples on my wrist:

As you can see the part with eye primer is much more stand out. I have to apply several times to get the color intensity I wanted without eye primer and it was not easy. But using this product as a base really make my life easier.

Here is the picture of my wrist after several hours. They both faded, but the part without primer was worse.

The examples above are swatched on my wrist, the body part that touched things the most, it was my bare skin with merely eye primer, no powder, no foundation. So applying this to your eyelids would have better result, I assume.

Another example when applied to my lower lids:

As you can see on the picture above, I applied this on my lower lash bed to make my lower liner stay longer (I have very oily lids and teary eyes). It really, really, hold the liner in its place. But, to be honest, applying this is a bit tricky because the cream dried really fast, and once it dried, it will leave an unpleasant trace like the picture above (see where the arrow points). So, I would suggest to apply this evenly as fast as you can! But the good thing is this product doesn't break out in my wrinkles. LOL. It just covers your lids perfectly!

So far, here are my verdicts:

  • Thick odorless cream
  • Skintone cream
  • Really make eyeshadow colors 'pop' out
  • Super fast drying so you have to dab this really fast as well
  • Ugly traces once it dried if you don't apply it evenly
  • Doesn't break out in wrinkles
  • Waterproof and smudgeproof. But not scrub proof. LOL.
  • Where did I get this: Zharas
  • How much: Approx. IDR 80K to 90K (USD 9)
Score:
4 out of 5

Will I buy it again?
I dunno, I haven't tried many other brands enough!

That's all for now. See you :)
