Review: NYX Eye Shadow in Black & Dark Brown (ES01 & ES 06) "The Story of My Basic Make Up Ingredients"

Nggak semua cewek itu suka dandan. Tapi yakin deh, PASTI semua cewe pernah berhadapan dengan situasi di mana kalian HARUS dandan. Berani bilang kalau aku salah? Berarti kamu wanita yang terdampar dan hidup di pulau terpencil. Sebatang kara.

Buat yang gak terlalu suka dandan, pasti bingung, apa aja sih makeup dasar yang harus kalian punya? Well, menurutku sih bedak, lipstik, dan eyeshadow. Iyaaah, eyeshadow, bukan pensil alis. Karena eyeshadow itu fungsinya jauh lebih banyak ketimbang pensil alis.

Oke, karena produk yang mau aku bahas kali ini adalah eyeshadow, aku beritai kasih tau dua warna yang menurutku sangat mendasar banget, yaitu coklat dan hitam. Yuk, kenalan sama dua alat make up yang paling banyak aku pake ini.

 

 

 

Sori nih kalau kemasannya udah agak buluk, karena telah melewati berbagai macam siksaan di tas make up ehehehe. Kemasannya mini dan simpel banget, warnanya hitam. Dua eyeshadow ini aku beli di counter beberapa bulan lalu, dan kalo nggak salah sekarang sudah ada kemasan barunya yang bulet dengan embel-embel nama "Hot". Tapi baca-baca review beauty blogger luar, formulanya gak sebagus versi lamanya. Katanyaaaa....

 

Harga waktu beli di konter: sekitar IDR 80K/per buah. Ga tau kalau sekarang.

 

 

Varian warnanya banyak banget loh, aku lupa berapa banyak, tapi asli banyaaak banget, dan bagus-bagus. Punyaku yang warna Black (ES01) dan Dark Brown (ES06). Isinya lumayan banyak yaitu 2.5 gram.

 

 

 

The ingredients.

 

 

 

Aku suka kemasan model begini. Mungil, praktis, gak pake kaca, tutupnya transparan pula, jadi isinya bisa keliatan dari luar.

 

 

 

Kalau masih baru, permukaan varian eyeshadow ini memiliki undak-undak berbentuk seperti 4 buah piramid kecil. Jenis warnanya juga matte, gak ada glitter sama sekali. Jadi cocok banget dipake untuk dandanan natural.

 

 

 

Yang ini piramid-nya udah cekung, bablas hehehe... Saking seringnya dipake. Permukaan warnanya tidak keras, alias buttery.

 

 

Warna hitamnya lumayan pekat, meski masih kalah pekat dibanding hitamnya Sleek Acid Palette-ku. Untuk warna coklat tuanya lumayan natural, dengan undertone sedikit kemerahan. Bukan warna taupe ya.

 

Untuk pigmentasinya sih lumayan kok. Entah kenapa pas aku swatch di tangan pigmentasinya terlihat payah, padahal kalo aku pake di kelopak mata pigmentasinya dahsyat kok. Bubuhkan dulu eye primer sebelum pake eyeshadow ini, dan kujamin pasti pigmentasinya jadi tambah 'menggila'.

Setelah membahas soal produknya, mari kita lihat apa saja yang sudah aku lakukan bersama kedua benda mungil ini. Hehehe.

 

 

Tutorial ini pernah aku post somewhere di blog ini, silakan klik link tutorial ya, karena aku juga lupa naroknya di mana. Untuk riasan ini aku menggunakan kedua warna coklat dan hitam sebagai eyeshadow. Yang ini cocok baget untuk rias mata sehari-hari.

 

Untuk make up fantasi yang aku buat ini, aku menggunakan kedua warna coklat dan hitam untuk menggambar alis, kontur mata dan wajah, juga luka sayatan di samping bibir.

 

 

Untuk make up di atas aku menggunakan eyeshadow coklat untuk kontur wajah, dan eyeshadow hitam + coklat untuk menebalkan alis.

 

 

Done on client's face. Membuat kerutan di seluruh wajah menggunakan eyeshadow coklat.

Untuk riasan mata di atas aku menggunakan eyeshadow coklat untuk menggambar alis, menggunakan angled brush. Natural banget deh liatnya, bisa bikin alis keliatan lebih tipis ketimbang pakai pensil alis, plus ada efek bule-nya dikit. Cocok untuk membuat make up mata ala Ulzzang atau Gyaru, kalo kamu gak punya maskara alis. Heheheh.

 

 Kalo yang terakhir ini aku menggunkaan eyeshadow coklat saja, hanya untuk kontur wajah.

Dan masih banyak lagi hasil make up yang pernah aku buat menggunakan kedua eyeshadow ini, kalo aku upload semua, maka post ini akan terlihat membosankan saking panjangnya. Jadi cukup sekian aja.

Review Etude House Color Lips-Fit (PK004 & PP501)

Hi,

I need to wait for about two months to finally get these berry babes. Just a gentle reminder that I have reviewed several series of Etude House Color Lips Fit. You can check out the review here and here. So the total would be 5 shades!

I just wouldn't write much about the packaging since I already mentioned it on my previous posts. But just wanna tell you that these were actually part of Color Lips Fit Lock N Summer series, but somehow Etude House finally combined all the summer and spring series together.

The shades I got are PK004 (Pretty Fit Hot Pink) and PP501 (Brave Fit Berry).

These are the latest shades. It was so hard to find these two, I've searched through online stores but only could find it in Zharasonline, and it was pre-ordered. 

The wand is short, and the applicator is not some typical doe-foot shaped. It was oval and thin, and more bended than most lip cream/gloss applicators.

Right: PP501

PK004 is a very bright pink. This color reminds me so much of Lime Crime Velvetine in Pink Velvet. While PP501 is a fucshia shade. I don't see any undertone in them, but PK004 works best on fair complexion, and PP501 for all complexions. I can say that these colors are actually sisters.

The consistency is a bit runny. I have to wait until it completely dry to add another layer and get an opaque swatch. This is not a problem when I apply this to my lips since my natural lip color is light/pale. But I think this will be an issue for those who have darker lips as you'll need several layers to achieve an opaque result.

When I first opened this several months ago, I can smell a very strong fruity scent coming out of the bottle. Nice scent, but waaay to strong for my nose.

These babes are waterproof, not easily transfer, long lasting and can be easily wiped with make up remover. Once removed, they'll leave some nice pinkish stains on your lips.

They look glossy and creamy at first but will turn to a matte result. It took more than a minute until they completely dry. If you aren't confident enough to be bold, you also can wear this gradient style. But I was just too lazy to capture the picture. I did, though, on my previos posts. Please hit the link above.

I can say that these colors can brighten up my dull look in an instant. Talk about bold colored lippes?

I really love these shades of Color Lips Fit series. Unlike three of my previous collections that look so neon bright and comical on me, these two are more... Humane, perhaps? They stay on my lips the whole day, more than 12 hours if I may say, eventhough I've used them for eating and drinking. They don't easily transfer but not kissproof.

I gotta tell you that, somehow, the purple stays longer than any other shades and doesn't pook clumpy at all at the very end of the day

Since they're matte, they tend fo dry your lips. To overcome this, I won't suggest you to use this everyday, give your lips some time to breath once in a while. Don't forget to scrub your lips twice a week and apply lip conditioner every night. I'd say these tricks work all the time.

Review: Viva Cosmetics Eye & Lip Make-Up Remover

Eh, ketemu lagi.

 

Today aku mau review make up remover khusus untuk area mata dan bibir. Biasanya aku pakai Loreal Gentle Eye & Lip Make Up Remover, bagus sih, tapi mahal! Beberapa bulan ini uang untuk kosmetik terkuras buat beli kosmetik high-end, jadi yaaa, agak-agak ngenes kalo mau beli Loreal, hihihi.

 

Di tengah kegalauanku, pas lagi iseng masuk ke apotik Guardian, aku nemu pembersih make up dari Viva Cosmetic ini nih.

Kemasannya sangat bersahaja, cuma botol dan tutup yang terbuat dari plastik. Tapi aku suka botol model begini. Praktis, imut, ga takut pecah.

 

Botolnya lumayan mungil. Sekilas isinya kayaknya dikit. Tapi ingatlah, ini pembersih make up khusus daerah mata dan bibir aja loh. Makenya juga gak perlu banyak-banyak. Tapi meski khusus untuk mata dan bibir, bisa juga dipake untuk seluruh wajah, cuma sayang aja sih. Boros.

 

Kalo masih baru produk ini akan di seal dengan plastik sampai ke tutupnya. Jadi jangan mau kalo kamu beli yang udah terbuka, nggak terjamin masih baru.

 

 

Sayangnya semua printing yang ada di botolnya itu cuma tercetak di atas plastiknya. Dari label, daftar komposisi bahan, tanggal kadaluarsa, semuanya deh. Ada sih garis putus-putusnya pas di leher botol seperti yang kamu lihat, tapi kok aku robeknya bablas ya, hehehe.

 

 

 

Nah, yang rada males itu mulut botolnya. Aku berharap sih dia ada ekstra tutup lagi di dalemnya, eh taunya nggak. Jangan sampe aja ini botol kesenggol daam keadaan tutup terbuka. Kalo nggak, ya wassalam deh.

 

 

 

 

Nggak seperti lip & eye make up remover pada umumnya yang memiliki dua lapis cairan, produk Viva ini isinya cuma berupa cairan bening yang encer. Nggak perlu dikocok-kocok. Nggak berbau juga kok. Waktu aku usap di mata juga adem rasanya, dan karena bebas alkohol jadi nggak bikin mata atau kulitku perih meskipun lagi ada luka (luka jerawat misalnya).

 

Karena mulut botolnya yang gede, beberapa temenku yang pernah pake ini bilang kalo mereka suka kebanyakan waktu menuangkan cairannya ke kapas. Kalo caraku sih cukup tutup aja mulut botolnya pake kapas, lalu balikkan botolnya dengan cepat. Dengan begini gak ada resiko kebanyakan tumpah.

 

 

Aku coba hapus make up mataku dengan produk ini. Dua kali usap langsung bersih! Lumayan kok. Dengan catatan produk yang aku pake di foto ini adalah produk untuk konsumsi sehari-hari ya, bukan yang super duper waterproof atau smudgeproof.

 

Hasilnya nih.

Sekarang mari kita lihat hasilnya saat menghapus lipstik.
 

 

Yang kanan itu Etude House Color Lips Fit. Di bibir, produk ini lumayan waterproof tapi gak terlalu awet. Aku coba hapus beberapa kalo dengan make up remover Viva, lumayan kok terhapus, walau masih menyisakan noda. Sedangkan yang kanan adalah Lime Crime Velvetine yang emang strong banget. Aku hapus dengan produk ini, gak bisa hilang, cuma baret-baret doang.

 

Pengalaman lainnya, pernah aku coba menghapus NYX eyebrow gel yang sangat keras kepala itu, perlu beberapa kali usap dengan tenaga badak, baru bisa terhapus sempurna. Lain halnya waktu aku pakai untuk menghapus SilkyGirl Eyebrow Pencil, cukup usap-usap sedikit langsung terhapus.

 

Kesimpulannya produk ini oke banget untuk menghapus make up yang waterproof, tapi tidak untuk make up smudgeproof. Jadi kalo kamu tipe orang yang suka pake make up yang anti badai untuk beberapa kesempatan, kamu harusnya punya satu make up remover lagi yang daya hapusnya lebih kuat dari ini. Tapi buatku ini sih cukup lah untuk pemakaian sehari-hari. Emang kalo cuma mau jalan santai aja, seberapa tebel sih harus pake make up. Hihihi...

 

 

Kesimpulan:

• Bisa membersihkan make up waterproof
• Tapi kurang oke untuk make up smudgeproof
• Tidak berbau
• Mulut botolnya terlalu besar, sangat beresiko tumpah
• Bebas alkohol jadi tidak perih di kulit atau di mata
• Murah meriah
• Isi 30 ml
• Beli dimana: di toko kosmetik, web Viva, apotik, pasar swalayan, di mana-mana ada
• Berapa harganya: aku beli di apotik Guardian Jakarta seharga IDR 5,970. Kalo di webnya dibandrol dengan harga IDR 6,250. Tapi ini bisa bervariasi ya.

 

 

 

 

IBB Make Up Challenge November 2014 SMARTLOOK Underneath Your Skin

Hi all!

 

Make Up challenge lagi nih oleh Indonesia Beauty Blogger. Udah dua bulan aku skip karena males. Bukan males sih, cuma aku ngerasa nggak dapet inspirasi aja buat ikutin MUC bulan-bulan sebelumnya. Mau ikutan Nail Art CHallenge, eh ga bisa gambar di kuku. Mau ikutan kontes ala Ulzzang, eh ini muka kaga ada ulzzang-ulzzangnya acan. Daripada dicela, yo wes lah, gak usah ikut aja sekalian! Hahahaha.

 

Nah untuk bulan November ini, IBB bekerja sama dengan CJ (Camellia Jonathan) dalam rangka mempromosikan single ke-empatnya CJ yang berjudul Underneath Your Skin. Dalam lagu ini Cj menampilkan Hatsune Miku (Vocaloid). Siapa itu Miku? Google aja ndiri deh. Because you're missing a lot. Heheheh. Tema yang diambil untuk MUC-nya juga nggak jauh-jauh dari dunia digital, yaitu: Futuristic atau SciFi.

Nah, look ini lah yang akan aku submit untuk MUC bulan ini. Pokoknya inilah kreasi ter-futuristik yang bisa aku buat untuk saat ini.

Karena Miku rambutnya panjang dikuncir dua, jadi aku juga bikin jilbab ala-ala kuncir dua juga, walaupun beda warna dengan warna rambut Miku.

 

 

 

 

Another version I did earlier, using lower falsies. I put it out during the photoshoot since I think they make me looked less fierce.

 

 

 

Here's a tutorial to redo this look:

1. Apply foundation one tone lighter than your skintone, then set it with face powder.
2. With a white pencil, draw a V shaped outline on your forehead.
3. Apply blue cream shadow on your forehead and outter eye area, then set it with blue pressed eyeshadow.
4. Apply dark purple on the inner eyes. Blend the purple with blue. Don't forget to contour your nose using this color as well.
5. Frame your eyes with black eyeliner then stick your false eyelashes.
6. Apply the thinnest layer of silver body paint to all over your face using a sponge. Blend it evenly.
7. Apply the same silver face paint on the V shape you drew earlier, then set it with silver pressed eyeshadow. You can make a nice gradient shade by using dark silver eyeshadow and light silver eyeshadow, but if you're too lazy to do this, just skip.
8. Apply silver face paint on your outter lips and blue eyeshadow on your inner lips. Pout to blend the color together, or you can blend them using a lip brush.

• LA Colors Eyeshadow Palette (Dark Purple & Turqoise Blue)

• Koji Dolly Wink Liquid Eyeliner (Black)
• Sleek Acid Palette (Black) to set the eyeliner, because Koji eyeliner wasn't black enough
• Some cheap falsies
• Baby Color Candy Rainbow Softlenses (Gray)

Review: NYX Eyeshadow Base in White ESB01

I have practiced many eye makeups and never seemed to review the very most basic ingredient I used on most of my creations: The NYX Eyeshadow Base. Okay, I think it's about time.

First of all, what is an eyeshadow base? An eyeshadow base is used before applying your eyeshadow, making your eyeshadow color more vibrant.

This product is packed in a tiny transparent glass jar with white plastic cap.

The type I own is ESB01 or White.

There are three types (if I'm not mistaken). White pearl, skintone, and the basic white like the one I have. I'm also curious of purchasing the other two, especially the white pearl since it can magically change any matte eyeshadow into pearly one.

Ingredient for ESB01:

Caprylic / Capric Triglyceride, Mineral Oil / Paraffinum Liquidum / Huile Minérale, Ceresin, Isododecane, Isobutylmethacrylate , Bis-Hydroxypropyl Dimethicone Acrylate Copolymer, Isopropyl Isostearate, Petrolatum, Phenyl Trimethicone, Microcrystalline Wax/ Cera Microcristallina / Cire Microcristalline, Aluminium Starch Octenylsuccinate, Silica, Beeswax / Cera Alba / Cire d'Abeille, Phenoxyethanol. MAY CONTAIN / PEUT CONTENIR (+/-): Mica, Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Ultramarines (CI 77007).

Please note that ingredient for other type of this product may be different.

One thing I dislike is the packaging itself. It's not very hygenic. But considering the hard texture, what could be better than a jar packaging? Just becareful with your nails since some of the product might stuck on nails when you take it out with your fingers. I just can't imagine how will I take this out when it almost hit the bottom.

The texture itself is some greasy cream, but it's pretty hard, not soft.

I despise its smell btw. It reminds me of the old school cream foundation that my grandmama used to wear. If you ever known the smell of the legendary Kelly Pearl Cream, I think you can tell. Blegh...

If you don't blend it well, I can tell that this also work as white cream shadow, very similar to the famous NYX Milk Jumbo Eye Pencil. I usually just set it with white powder shadow, and it create a perfect white surface.

This is very easy to blend. However, if you don't blend it perfectly on your eyelid, the white shade might be a little too obvious. So make sure don't apply too much, and blend it evenly. This makes me want to purchase the skintone type even more.

On the picture above I use NYX single eyeshadow as an example. Those products will be reviewed soon. As you can see that the swatch with primer is far more pigmented that the original one. I have tried this eyeshadow base with many eyeshadow type and brand, from powder, loose, and cream eyeshadow, from drugstore products to high ends, and they all turned to be extremely pigmented and buttery if based with this product, just like magic.

Above picture is an example of how this product works on my eyelids. I blended it, of course, so you may not see that I was wearing a white eyeshadow base.

One thing this product lacks of is it settles into lines. If you zoom in the picture, the lines will be extremely obvious. Although after applying eyeshadow afterwards, the creases won't be too obvious anymore. Well, considering this is an eyeshadow base (not an eye primer), I think I have to accept this fact. To reduce the creasing effect, I usually put the thinnest layer and add some face primer before applying foundation or concealer. It doesn't totally vanish the creases, but at least reduce them. So the makeup sequence on my eyes will be like this:

 Face primer - foundation - concealer - face powder - eyeshadow base - eyeshadow

And as for its staying power is truly incredible for a drugstore item. My eyeshadow stay vibrant all day, the same goes with my eyeliner that didn't smudge at all. Pease remember that I have very oily lids. In short, my eyemakeup stay just the way it was when freshly applied for 8 hours.

Verdicts:

• Creamy texture
• Makes the color extremely vibrant
• Good staying power
• Tends to crease into lines
• Bad smell
• Not very hygenic packaging, but is very tiny and travel friendly
• Tends to stuck on your nails when you take the product
• How much: the official price is USD 7 or IDR 165K. But are sold in many online stores with variable prices.
