Review: Etude House Tear Eye Liner #1 (White Tear)

Hi all!

I know, it's far too late to review this product since it's launched more than 3 years ago. But in the past three years, I haven't even started blogging, yet have enough fund to spend it on cosmetics. So, I think now is the perfect time to make a review.

First of all, for those of you who are curious about what kind of product this is, it's basically eyeliner which is used to hilight your eyes, spesifically your lower lash beds. Beside that, I don't know what else this product is used for.

PACKAGING

There you go. This is the bottle which reminds me of the EH Proof 10 Eye PRimer bottle, unless the cap is light peach shade and the tiny bottle is made of transparent plastic. This is actually a very tiny product witha very long cap.

They are available in four shades:

White Tear (#1)

Silver Tear (#2)

Pearl (#3)

Sunlight (#4)

Although I gotta say, the types of this product is a bit confusing. Some say they have five shades (including the pink Shiny Tear), some only four, and the EH Indonesia official website mentioned only three of them (Sunlight is excluded).

I don't know about you, but I think the shades are quite similar one another. I found this when googling the swatches to several beauty blogs all around the world. Yeah, they are different, but it won't revealed too much since you're gonna need a small amount of the product applied to your eyes, and no one will ever notice unless if they look at your eyes veeerry closely. But, that's impossible, right? So, I guess you can just pick any color randomly, in case your favorite one is not available at the time.

My shade is #1 which is White Tear

The applicator is a brush rather than a felt tip, and it's quite pointy as well.

SWATCHES & PERFORMANCE

The tip of the applicator, like I said, is pointy and makes it easier to draw a thin line. But in some point, if I want to retouch the line again, the surface will look uneven. So, one important tip to use this is never to retouch the line you have drawn. The intencity is awfully transparent, so if you want to have a solid white result, I would suggest you to apply white eyeshadow on the first place.

Is it just me and my sensitive eyes, but every liquid liner always give me a sting effect when first applied, although it will fade gradually. The same thing happens to this liner, it stings although just a bit. I can bear it... needles and stitches hurt much more. LOLs.

One more thing I gotta say, this is not a waterproof product, so beware when you cry. And I gotta say that the glitters will gradually move to your eye ereas, how about you, does the same thing happen to you?

Overall, I like this product a lot. In fact it's been one must-have makeup item for me. Because I have  pretty bad dark circles and applying this near my tear duct area helps to brighten my eyes. It really gives you that sparkly effect, as if there's a pearly tear drop on the corner of your eyes. Hmmm, I think I know why this product was named Tear Eyeliner.

• Not waterproof but it stays in place the whole day if you don't rub it

Review: Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm #205 (Elusive)

This lip color is actually a part of my last June haul, I finally get the chance to review it.

Packaging

Actually there are three types of this lip crayon divided by their finishing effect. Matte balm (matte), balm stain (creamy/satin finish), and lacquer balm (glossy and less pigmented). You can judge the formula based on the packaging. The one I have here is matt, that's why the tube felt smooth. I once had the creamy one (balm stain) which I already reviewed here.

I took this picture because I thought the ingredients were written here, but turned out you should peel off this sticker on its cap, really carefully, to find out more.

These are its ingredients, taken with my phone camera. Hope it came up pretty well.

The crayon tube color represents each shade. Mine is #205 or Elusive. Judging from the tube, it's gonna be a dusty pink shade. The color that I mostly picked when purchasing a lip color.

Perasaan lipstik gue banyak, tapi kenapa warna yang dibeli itu lagiiii itu lagi. Maap intermezzo dikit.

Aaaand just as I thought before, it is a dusty pink. At least, that's what I thought.

Although the color is actually a nice one, but I gotta say I'm a bit dissappointed since it's not the dusty pink like I hoped. Turned out the shade was a pink with yellow undertone that looks too bright on my lips and make my complexion looks dull. I think I should have bought the Sultry shade, a warmer tone.

If you glide it on your lips, you'll feel a cool minty sensation. Maybe that's why this product was named BALM (balsem kan pedes ya bo! Heheh). The formula is matte, although it's not as matte as NYX SLMC or EH Color Lips-Fit, and this one dries my lips. Well, that's because I have dry lips and get chapped easilly. Maybe the condition will be different on those who have healthy lips.

The longevity is average. I wouldn't mention how long it's gonna stay since it really depends on how sloppy you are, especially when you wear this while you eat or drink. But after you took a meal, I would strongly suggest to wipe everything off and retouch all over again, or else, your lips will look super ugly, seriously. Btw, this one, will stain your coffee cup.

Overall, I like this lip color, although I would not list this as one of my favorite items. The color, the formula, they all just.... I would not call them bad, but they just don't work for me. Too bad, because this is the very first time I ever feel dissapointed by Revlon product.

Judgement:

• Matte formula
• Lips drying, lip balm application is advised

• Cool mint sensation when first applied, and will fade gradually
• Medium staying power and pigmentation

LOOK #1

This one was inspired by the sky colors of the dusk and the dawn.

First things first, fill your brow bone with gold eyeshadow and light brown pencil. Apply eyeshadow base on your eyelids, then you can co tinue to these steps:

How to:

1. Apply pink and purple on your lids.
2. Fill your crease line with orange.
3. Fill the brow bone with yellow.
4. Apply pink and purple on your lower lash bed.
5. Frame your eye with black line.
6. Apply falsies and mascara, and you are done.

For the lips, I made ombre lips style using shocking pink and orange lipstick. Blend the colors and set it with clear lipgloss. For the face, i contour my forehead, cheek bobes and the nose with dark brown eyeshadow. Last I put some peach-pink blusher on the apple of he cheeks.

PUTIH LANGSAT LULUR SPA 2 IN 1 (with red algae)

Scrub yang warna pink ini selain ekstrak kulit manggis buah langsat, juga mengandung Red Algae dan minyak aromaterapi mawar yang menenangkan. Dapat membantu melembabkan dan mengencangkan kulit. Tekstur lulurnya itu putih cream dengan butiran scrub halus berwarna merah muda. Baunya maniiis banget khas mawar. Dalem hati seneng dapet stok lulur hehhehe.

Kalo di keterangannya sih lulur ini bisa dipake setiap mandi, tapi karena kulitku kering kerontang, aku pake 2 atau 3 kali seminggu aja. Pakenya itu lebih baik saat badan dalam keadaan lembab yah, bukan kering atau basah. Kalo aku suka cipratin air dulu dikit ke badan, terus gosok deh pake lulur. Dijamin rontok dakinya.

PUTIH LANGSAT LULUR SPA 2 IN 1

Sebenernya aku gak melihat perbedaan signifikan antara lulur kemasan hijau ini dengan yang pink. Paling beda kemasan sama kandungan esensial oil-nya aja. Kalo yang ini baunya lebih segar karena mengandung minyak aromaterapi jeruk. Satu lagi perbedaannya, yaitu tekstur. Kalo yang ini berisi butiran scrub berwarna hijau. Kalo disuruh milih, aku kok lebih seneng yang ini ya. Lebih segar rasanya.

PUTIH LANGSAT FACIAL FOAM

Sabun pembersih wajah ini mengandung essential oil jeruk yang menyegarkan. Aku suka banget pake ini. Biasanya kalo pake pembersih wajah yang berbusa gitu, setelah cuci muka rasanya kulit wajah kayak berasa 'ditarik' gitu. Makanya aku lebih seneng pake facial foam yang gak berbusa. Tapi ternyata yang ini ngga, meski berbusa tapi kulit mukaku tetap berasa kenyal, gak kering deh. Plus sensasi aroma jeruknya itu membuat ritual cuci muka jadi menyenangkan.

PUTIH LANGSAT MOISTURIZER

Masih dengan ekstrak buah langsat, pelembab ini juga dimaksudkan untuk mencerahkan wajah dan melindungi kulit dari radikal bebas karena mengandung antioksidan. Kalo pelembab ini mengandung essential oil dengan aroma Neroli, fungsinya juga untuk memberikan ketenangan. Produk ini juga diklaim memiliki Pro Vitamin B5 dan UV filter. Sayangnya tidak dijelaskan lebih detail seberapa tinggi kandungan UV Filternya.

Dari semua rangkaian produk ini, cuma si pelembab muka ini aja yang belum aku coba, karena di keterangannya tertulis bahwa pada pemakaian pertama kulit akan terasa agak perih karena produk sedang bekerja. I don't know what that means, tapi rada takut makenya. Ntar, kalo pelembab-ku yang lama udah abis, mungkin akan memberanikan diri pake ini.

PUTIH LANGSAT BODY LOTION

Nah, body lotion ini juga salah satu barang favoritku. Baunya ada aroma terapi bunga melati. Masih dengan fungsi yang sama, yakni mencerahkan dan melindungi kulit dari paparan buruk radikal bebas. Teksturnya itu aku suka banget, agak encer jadi gak lengket dan cepat diresap kulit. Kebiasaanku itu suka ngendus-ngendus tangan yang udah diolesin body lotion atau body butter sebelum tidur. Jamin mimpi indah. Asal jangan lupa baca doa ya. Hihihihi...

PUTIH LANGSAT TWO WAY CAKE

Asiiik, dapet stok bedak. Nah, kalo two way cake ini memiliki kandungan minyak aroma terapi sandalwood yang berfungsi untuk membangkitkan semangat. Sandalwood apa sih? Kalo orang sini sih bilangnya kayu cendana booo. Di dalam bedak ini, selain foundation, juga sudah mengandung tabir surya dan pelembab. Tapi aku sih tetep menyarankan kamu memakai pelembab lagi sebelumnya, dan sangat disayangkan (lagi-lagi) tidak ada penjelasan lebih rinci tentang seberapa banyak kandungan tabir suryanya.

Mungkin temans rada bosen ya dengan kata-kata buah langsat, itttu mulu yang diomongin. Kamu tau gak sih buang langsat itu apa? Kalo aku perhatiin gambar buah di tube facial foamnya, kayak buah duku. Pas googling ternyata masih sodaraan dengan buah duku! Aku baru tau. Banyak yang nyangka mereka sama, padahal ngga loh. Bedanya kalo kulit duku tipis dan rasa buahnya manis, kalo langsat kulitnya tebel, dan rasa dagingnya asem! Tapi juga edible.

Okehh, back to the topic ya (ngelantur nih). Banyak loh manfaat buah langsat ini. Seperti kebanyakan buah yang memiliki rasa asam, langsat mengandung antioksidan alami yang dapat melindungi kulit dari radikal bebas, sehingga dapat mencegah kerutan dan penuaan dini. Buah langsat juga dapat menekan pertumbuhan enzim Tirosinase yang dapat menggelapkan warna kulit. Jadi buat kamu yang ingin mencerahkan warna kulit dengan hasil yang TIDAK INSTAN dan ALAMI, kamu bisa menggunakan ekstrak kulit manggis buah langsat biar kulitmu cerahan, tapi tidak pucat. Tapi ngapain juga repot-repot, kan udah ada Sariayu Putih Langsat Series. Heheheh.

Yang paling aku suka dari rangkaian produk putih langsat ini adalah semua produknya diperkaya dengan aroma therapic essential oil, jadi baunya enak banget. Meski wangi tapi gak bikin mabok dan efeknya jadi menenangkan pas dipake. Jarang loh ada rangkaian produk dengan minyak aroma terapi. 

Buat penyayang binatang atau kamu-kamu yang teliti banget soal ke-Halal-an produk kosmetik, Sariayu ini bisa diandalkan loh karena sudah 'menyandang' label Halal dari MUI, dan No Animal Testing. Bangga deh punya produk dalam negri seperti ini, lengkap pula dengan harga yang nggak bikin kantong menjerit. ^^

Review: Viva Compact Powder (Natural)

Eeeeh ketemu lagi kita :D

Bulan Juni 2014 ini, aku kayaknya sudah banyak membombardir teman-teman semua dengan ulasan tentang lip products, dari lip balm, lip tint, lip pigment, lipstik... Dan sepertinya akan berlanjut lagi sih sampe beberapa post ke depan.

Tapi biar ga bosen, aku post dulu deh tentang salah satu 'pelapis muka' yang biasa aku pake buat bedendong di rumah selama setahunan ini.

Sebenernya bedak andelanku itu Maybelline Clear Smooth, murmer, coverage bagus, awet. Cuman berhubung aku rada perhitungan, sayang amat bedak harga 20ribu perak buat dipake tiap hari, padahal di rumah doang. Pas pertama liat ini di toko kosmetik pasar tradisional deket rumah. Liat penampakannya langsung demen, hahaha. Packaging minded banget. Udah gitu murah pula, IDR 8000-an. Setelah abis satu tempat, mo beli lagi gak nemu terus. Akhirnya beli lah di website, cuman harganya lebih mahal, sekitar 10 atau 11 ribu.

Kenapa aku demen packagingnya? Vintage bo. Tempatnya ini plastik warna oren goooonjreng banget, plus ada ukiran warna silver gitu. Hahaha, kuno banget! Dan bentuknya bulet pula, jadi inget jam rantai ala-ala steam punk sekitar seabad lalu. Btw, karena kemasannya ini plastik yang agak berat, bisa dipastikan kalo kamu banting bakal pecah. Jadi jangan di banting... Kecuali gak sengaja hehehe.

Yang lebih memperkuat aura vintage-nya tuh adalah kotaknya, masih dengan warna oren, sodara-sodara. Udah gitu ada foto (atau lukisan) gambar bunga dengan kualitas saturation dan lighting yang sangat tidak tepat, alias terlalu terang, jadi putih-putih gitu gambarnya. Eh, btw, liatkah kamu ada logo halal dari MUI di sana? Yup, biar kemasan vintage, tapi ini Halal loh. Heheheh.

Ingredients-nya, temaaaan. Masih ada turunan paraben tuh. 

Untuk jenis warnanya sendiri ada tiga: Kuning langsat, Kuning Pengantin, dan Natural. Aku pilih warna Natural aja. Kenapa? Karna warna kulitku bukan kuning langsat, dan kedua, karna aku gak tahu warna kuning pengantin itu kayak gimana. Temen-temen ada yg tahu ga?

Di dalamnya udah dapet cermin sama puff. Kemasannya ini lumayan compact tapi isinya banyak menurutku (19 g). Cerminnya bisa buat ngaca (ya eeeaaalah).

Berhubung ini Compact Powder dan bukan Two Way Cake, jadi si puff nya itu dari kain, bukan sponge. Dan puff-nya itu halus tapi kaku bo, cuman lumayanlah. Tekstur bedaknya sih halus sekali, lebih halus dari Maybelline, tapi agak berbubuk. Btw, ada wangi kembang setaman yang asli semerbak mekar mewangi banget loh, meskipun akan hilang setelah beberapa saat. Jadi buat yang suka bersin-bersin karna wewangian, kudu re-consider ya make ini. Aduh, sampe wanginya pun vintage. Hahahah.

Kayak gini warna shade Natural itu. Menurutku ini warna yang cukup universal yah, gak keputihan, gak terlalu gelap. Cocok buat hampir semua warna kulit. 

Coverage-nya lumayan kok, untuk bedak seharga ini. Tanganku itu banyak freckles, pokoknya udah dari sana-Nya gitu. Liat deh perbedaan bagian yang ketutup bedak, lumayan bisa nutup noda-noda hitam itu, meski gak full nutup banget. Ingat, ini bedak muka biasa, alias bedak tabur yang dipadatkan, bukan two way cake. Warnanya juga gak keputihan. Keliatan pake bedak, cuma gak keliatan overdo.

So far, kesimpulannya, bedak ini ringan banget buat dipake sehari, meski ada wangi kembang setaman, selama setaun pake ini tiap hari aku gak pernah ada purging di kulit wajah sama sekali. Kalo untuk ketahanan sih aku bisa bilang level-nya low to medium. Pernah juga beberapa kali aku pake jalan di tempat ber-AC, luntur dikit, idung plus jidat jadi mengkilat but masih oke. Aku pake kondangan juga pernah, lengkap dengan foundation plus face primer, performanya jadi keren banget, tahan lama bo. So, menurut pendapatku, ada beberapa faktor yang menentukan seberapa lama bedak ini bertahan di wajahmu: kondisi kulit, kondisi lingkungan, plus pemakaian base makeup. Btw, jenis kulitku normal-oily ya.

Aku udah beli ini dua kali, dan kayaknya bakal beli lagi terus dan terus. Rada kurang tertarik sih make two way cake, face powder biasa seperti ini atau Maybelline buatku udah cukup. Saran aja sih, kalo bukan buat acara resmi, pesta, atau manggung, lebih baik hindari deh keseringan make two way cake, karena kandungannya lebih berat dari compact atau loose powder. Kalo ngantor atau ke kampus kan kita udah pake SPF, face primer, belom lagi pake alas bedak atau BB Cream, itu aja udah nutupin pori-pori muka. Malah buat kamu yang kulit mukanya gak terlalu banyak bermasalah, cukuplah pake bedak aja, gak usah pake alas bedak segala. Kalo ada jerawat satu-dua biji, tutupin aja pake concealer di spot-spot tertentu. Gak apa-apa kok keliatan gak mulus-mulus amat, karena kita cuma manusia biasa. Gak mau kan, masih muda kulit udah kusem? Keliatan tua dong... males ih... Hehehehe. Peace yak, ini pendapatku loooh :)

• Ada bau kembang setaman semerbak mekar mewangi
• Tekstur halus tapi berbubuk
• Puff-nya rada kaku
• Case-nya gampang pecah, engsel kacanya juga gampang copot (pengalaman)

• Gampang didapet (aku beli di pasar tradisional)
• Berapa? Sekitar IDR 8000-an. Di vivacosmetic.com sih IDR 10.300 (barusan nge-cek). Jadi jangan mau kalo beli di toko harganya lebih mahal dari itu ya.
