Review: NYX Slim Lip Pencil (Fuchsia/SPL 816)

Another lip liner collection of mine! Yeaay!

This pencil comes in a black wooden pencil with different colors representing each shade. The cap is made of black plastic.

Company claim:
Slim, trim but never prim, our lip pencils come in a variety of dashing shades—from auburn to orange and traffic-stopping red. The buttery, long-wearing lip liner formula goes on easily and resists bleeding.

This cost USD 3.50 in their official web store. I bought this on offcial counter for IDR 80K, but if you buy this online it'll cost you about IDR 50-60K.

My shade is Fuchsia.

There are 56 array of colors available, according to its official international webstore. They even got BLACK lip liner. How cool is that?! But I have no idea how many shades available here in Indonesia. I pressume there are only mainstream colors distributed in local official conters, other than that you have to pre-order them online.

Ingredients:
Sorbitan Isostearate, Isocetyl Stearate,Phenyl Trimethicone, Polyethylene, Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax,Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter) Unsaponifiables, Beeswax, SimmondsiaChinensis (Jojoba) seed oil, Caprylic/Capri Triglyceride, Nylon-12,Octyldodecanol, Polyglyceryl-2 Diisostearate, Silica, CoperniciaCerifera (Carnauba) Wax, Hydrogenated, Coconut Oil, Tocopherol,VP/Hexadecene Copolymer, Stearalkonium Hectorite, StearylGlycyrrhetinate, Propylparaben, Prolylene Carbonate

This is a wooden pencil that need to be sharpen.

This color is a bright fucshia color with cool undertone.

The lip liner alone, worn full lips.

Combined with Sariayu lipstick Lasem 01
A match made in heaven!

I first bought this bright pink pencil to lock the color of some pink liquid lipsticks I have. Liquid tends to bleed out of my lip line and applying this pencil in advance really help those liquid stay in place, at least for more than 6 hours of usage.

This pencil glides on smoothly without any dragging on my lips with a good color pay-off. Easily to be sharpened, but also a bit disturbing when the tip is no longer pointy. It's not easily brake if you sharpen it right.

I find that this pencil is a bit drying, but don't they all? So far I only tried three brands of lip pencil (Revlon, Silkygirl, and NYX) and all of them dry out. But aren't they supposed to be dry? Otherwise, how can it lock the lip color in place? Tell me if I'm wrong. Just put a lip balm first, leave it for a about 5 minutes, wipe it, apply a concealer, then start drawing your lips.

So far, I think this is the best lip liners I've ever had. I consider of repurchasing this but in other colors, although I don't know if the result will be as pleasing as this, because sometimes the result can be different depending on the color.

Review: Etude House Nymph Aura Volumer (No. 3/Transparent)

I think I've mentioned it before in my previous posts about Etude House products, that the company has the ability to name their products with such confusing names. I didn't even know what a 'volumer' really is, until I finally understood that this is actually a luminizer, a thick translucent oil you use to make your face look more radiant, or glowy, or dewy.

This cost USD 15 for 25 g on official web, but I bought this for about IDR 190K in @mai_shop in Instagram

This comes with a lavender box and a white pump bottle. There's a teardrop decoration on the bottle with hollographic effect. The pump itself is also very hygienic and easy to use. Please do not push the pump to deep or else you'll spoil too many product. Just do it lightly.

There are three variants: No 1/pure, No 3/transparent, and No 4/luminous. No 2 was discontinued.
The one I have is No. 3 or transparent. You can see the variant description on top of the box and at the backside of the bottle. This variant claims to give you a light and transparent glow.

Ingredients:
HYDROGENATED POLYDECENE, HYDROGENATED POLYISOBUTENE, RICINUS COMMUNIS (CASTOR) SEED OIL, ETHYLENE/PROPYLENE COPOLYMER, ETHYLHEXYL OLIVATE, POLYGLYCERYL-4 DIISOSTEARATE/POLYHYDROXYSTEARATE/SEBACATE, DIISOSTEARYL MALATE, TITANIUM DIOXIDE, ARGANIA SPINOSA KERNEL OIL, OCTYLDODECYL STEAROYL STEARATE, PERSEA GRATISSIMA (AVOCADO) OIL, HYDROLYZED HYALURONIC ACID, CAPRYLYL GLYCOL, ETHYLHEXYLGLYCERIN, 1,2-HEXANEDIOL, FRAGRANCE, CI 77491, ULTRAMARINES

*Please note that according to its official web that the ingredients of each variant are different. The one I copied above are the ones in variant No. 3 (transparent).

The consistency is some thick transparnet peach/pink oily cream, but it'll turn to clear one once you spread it. So it won't affect your foundation/BB cream shade. There's a hint of sunflower smell, but not too strong. There is no shimmer or glitter at all. Just a plain oil cream.

*******

HOW TO USE

The first method is by mixing the volumer with BB cream with 1:3 ration. 1 one the volumer, and 3 for the BB cream. I would suggest you using the foundation or BB cream that has a matte result if you don't want to overdo it.

The result on my hand applied with BB cream and volumer is way more greasy/dewy.

Unfortunately, I've done this first method and apparently it didn't went pretty well. For the record, my skin type is normal to oily. And the result on me was way too greasy. I couldn't even apply my make up properly since they refuse to be absorbed by my super greasy skin at the time. My blusher, eyeliner, eyebrows were a complete mess. But if you insist on doing this method, please remember, DO NOT EVER apply this product to your eyelid. It's a very stupid thing I did anyway.

The second method is by using this as a highlighter. After doing all of my make up, I simply dab the products with my fingertip, onto my cheekbones, nose bridge, forehead (near my upper eyebrows), chin, and my cupid's bow. I just dab them in a very small amount to avoid the super greasy result. And turned out this method suits me better. I do this method for my daily makeup.

Some of the result:

This product is wearable for a tan or medium skintone as well.

Unfortunately, doing this method after the application of BB cream/foundation would only run my base make up, so I have to do more blending. Preferably with fingertip. Usually after dabbing this product, I would tap them again with a stippling brush to reduce the shinny effect. But if you prefer it to appear more shinny, then just leave it like that.

******

Despite the nice dewy/glowy effect it gives me, this product also leave some uneasy and heavy feeling on my skin. It feels sticky. And if you have a long hair and not wearing hijab like me, I'm afraid that you'll experience this uncomfortable experience when some of your hair sticked to your face where the cream was applied. Do you know what I mean?

For those who have normal and dry skin (especially dry skin) wearing this might compliment your make up look. I used to have dry skin few months ago, and it really help to even out those flaky skin. But I would not recommend this for oily skin as this would only make you look shinny, not in a nice way.

Review: NYX Mechanical Eye Pencil in Purple, Lime Green, Turqoise Blue,White, Gold, Pink, and Silver

I bought these colorful pencils because I love coloring my lips with crazy colors, but not worn publicily, though. Just for fun. Since lip liners are so limited in terms of color variant, so I think these eye pencils are good substitutes.

Let's see the colors I got.

Purple/Violet/MPE11
This is a dark purple with blue hint. The color is a bit irridescent and metallic. Its pigmentation is great, I can get a very opaque result in just one swipe.

Lime Green/MPE07
I wouldn't call this a lime green since the color is just like moss. This is a metallic moss green with a good pigmentation. One of my favorite item.

Turqoise Blue/MPE09
A stunning blue, the color is true to its stick. Its's a bit metallic with super super great pigmentation. Another favorite item of mine.

White/Blanc/MPE01
One of the color I use the most in my waterline, of course. This is the only variant from my NYX pencil collection that has a matte result. The opacity is marvelous, and it stays the whole day on my waterline. I think I reviewed this once, but I'm not sure. You can hit the search button to find out more.

Gold/MPE06
I wouldn't say this gold shade, it's more like a bronze to me. It has metallic hue, and sadly, the pigmentation is not very good. Or if I my say, very poor.

Pink/MPE12
When I bought this, I was hoping the color would be a good substitute for a pale pink lip liner. Turned out I was wrong. It's an irridescent pink with a hint or purple. And this is the poorest color in terms of pigmentation. Totally a let down. I wouldn't recommend this if you're looking for a pink pencil. The texture is also very clumpy.

Silver/Argent/MPE05
It is a silver, what more can I say? This one glides smoothly with a very opaque result. A recommended item if you're looking for a silver pencil.

***

So, these pencils varies in terms of opacity. They are retractable and, like most pencils with similar shape, are also very fragile and brake easily. So please be gentle with your hands.

Beside using these as eyeliner and lip liner, I also often use these as an eyeshadow base to make my eyeshadow colors more pop, it works well!

These are claimed to be waterproof, but the lady in the counter told me that these aren't really waterproof. It won't easily fade if you splash it with water, but rub it ince and you'll get the color gone in a second. And these are not smudgeproof. So becareful wearing this on your eyes on a sweaty hot days.

Verdicts:
- Semi-waterproof
- Varies in terms of pigmentation, texture, and types of color
- Not waterproof
- The stick breaks easily
- How much: IDR 95K on official counters, and around IDR60-70 in online stores

Example of application on my lips, using the lime green and turqoise blue.

IBB MUC February 2015 Flowery Garden With The Saem Indonesia

Bulan Februari ini, bekerjasama dengan The Saem, IBB mengadakan makeup challenge dengan tema Korean Flowery Garden, yaitu makeup yang terlihat sweet, natural, dan sangat cocok dipake untuk date atau hang out. Intinya sih, makeup wearable, bukan fantasi. The Saem adalah salah satu merk kosmetik asal Korea. Kalo liat-liat fanpage-nya aku pengen banget nyobain  Eco Soul Dome Shadow Fantasy Special. Penasaran aja, soalnya aku suka bikin eye makeup.

Pake jari aja.

Valentine's Day Collaboration

Okay, so what I am doing now is a bit cliche, making a makeup collaboration based on a trending event: Valentine's Day. Please note that by creating this look doesn't mean I celebrate it, I just want to express myself thru' makeup using an available theme at the time. But if you don't believe in me, I'll leave the judgment up to you.

Due to the twisted minds of some fellow bloggers, we divided this collaboration into two kinds of look: the glam and the gore, or as you can see from the banner above, The Lovey Dovey and The Shattered Hearts. The last category is to symbolize that not everybody has a couple on Valentine's Day. Muahahahah *evil laugh*.

Okay so this is my look I created:

This look was inspired by Kuchisake Onna or The Slit-Mouthed Woman, a famous urband legend in Japan. Although if you google that name, you'll find her pictures are a million times more frightening than this one I created.

The wounds on my mouth was made using a peel-off mask, inspired by Annisa Lesmana (I forgot her blog name, sorry!) whom used to do the same technique to create her Robotic makeup.

For the eye makeup I created a cut crease look, a cut crease literally. Too bad I used too much blood effect in the picture, making it not so realistic. Also I should have added some veins effect. Totally a failure, but, making a new one is such a hassle so... Nevermind.

At the end of the photo session, I decided to add some pins on the wound.

Review: Utama Spice Hydrating Body Mist (Fresh Soul)

Aduh ya ampun apa kabaaar, lama banget yaaa udah dua hari gak ngepost apa-apa. Hehehe.

Asli dah bingung.

Duh kayak nama temen gue... (lahirnya sore-sore jadi dikasi nama Senja ama emaknya. Untung bukan tengah ari bolong, ntar namanya jadi Terik).

Waktu itu pernah gue lewat konternya, iseng cium-ciumin aroma body lotionnya. And I was like, blegh! Bau apaan nih?

Pertama cium gue sempet mikir, yahelaaah tega banget Anggie sama Mak Lina (peace, fren, peace!) kok baunya kayak gini hahahah.

Ingredients:
Aque, Ethanol (Grain Alcohol), Agar, Foeniculum Vulgare (Fennel) Fruit Oil, Mentha Arvensis(Peppermint) Leaf Oil, Vetivera Zizanoides (Vetiver) Root Oil, Myristica Fragrans (Nutmeg) Seed Oil

Kalo daya tahan wanginya sih gak lama-lama banget. Secara, body mist gitu lah ya, jangan ngarep kebanyakan. 3-4 jam juga udah hilang, tapi masih samar-samar kecium. Tapi kalo gue pake buat ajojing selama 2 jam penuh, baunya masih tetep kenceng kok.
