Review: Make Up Forever Artist Plexi-Gloss (200, 201, 301P)

make-up-forever-artist-plexi-gloss-200-201-301peview-esybabsy

So a couple of months ago I won a giveaway held by my friend Irene Widya collaborated with Make Up Forever Indonesia, and won these three Artist Plexi-Glosses. They were launched just recently. And oh yeah, I was feeling super excited. Three expensive Artist Plexi-Glosses. For free.

Upon collecting my prize at their counter, I was like, oh dear, they're all nudes. What am I going to do with them? I don't mean to sound ungrateful, though, but it could have been better if we can just got significantly different shades. Ya udahlah, Esy, gratisan aja belagu amat....

Artist Plexi-Gloss comes with a transparent plastic tube and black plastic cap. It has some unique SuperFlex applicator which helps me to create a clean line to draw on the edges of your lips. I think I might keep the applicator for further uses with my other liquid lip products. Also, it can hold enough amount of the product to cover your whole lips. I just need to dip once or twice.

make-up-forever-artist-plexi-gloss-200-201-301peview-esybabsy

Artist Plexi-Gloss is availabale in 35 different shades. From clear and nudes, to pinks, reds, purples, and even black. Srsly. And here I got three of their nudes: 200, 201, and 300P. I think the word P at the end of the description might explain the pearly finishing of the product.

Bottom: Natural lighting

The consistency is quite thick and sticky, and I can feel the stickiness when applying them on my lips. There's a bit a fragrance that will fade gradually after applying, and this product also lacks any distinct flavor.

Shade 200

Shade 200 is actually a light beige color when swatched on my hand. It looks almost clear on my lips and makes my face appear pale since the color is paler than my actual lip color.

make-up-forever-artist-plexi-gloss-200-201-301peview-esybabsy
Shade 201

Shade 201 is a bit pink, but still transparent. This one is like sister to shade 200, you can judge by their names. Applied to my lips, this looks almost the same with shade 200.

make-up-forever-artist-plexi-gloss-200-201-301peview-esybabsy
Shade 301P

This is the prettiest among these three. It has a slight peach shade with shimmer. But still, this one will look nude when applied to your lips. The shimmer is appropriate to be used day or night. I usually wear this to top any matte lipstick and it really elevates my appearance to a new level.

***

What I don't like the most is probably its stickiness. I feel my lips are a bit 'heavier' in an instant, but it really deserves its high shine effect. Artist Plexi-Gloss can last up to 4 hours on me without drinking or eating. Remember, this is lip gloss, just don't expect too much staying power.

I never use these products alone, so I just can't give you the review about its moisturizing effect. If I have to look all shinny on my lips, I wouldn't let them look bare.

Artist Plexi-Gloss cost USD 19 on the US and IDR 320,000. If I'm not mistaken. Despite its sticky texture, this product really worth the price, though. Especially for those of you who gets bored already with so many matte lip stain nowadays. Me, myself, would like to try the Burgundy shade. Just make sure to use the tester first because some shades don't look very opaque when applied.

Okay, so before I end this post, here are my full face pics wearing all three. They actually look different, but not significant.

Review: Sugarpill Addicted To Pretty Palettes (Burning Hearts, Heart Breaker, Sweetheart)

sugarpill-addict-to-pretty-palettes-burning-hearts-heart-breaker-sweetheart-esybabsy-review

O alas, these palettes are on the top list of my 'must have item' for like, years. But I just bought these about six months ago, and just collected the mood to review them now, since I was too excited trying them on.

FYI, Sugarpill launched several series of pressed eye shadow palettes, one of them is Addicted To Pretty palettes, which is divided into three series: Burning Hearts, Heart Breaker, and Sweetheart palettes, which are loaded with bright and vibrant colors.

PACKAGING
These babies comes with a carton (cardboard?) palette and a large mirror inside. Each palette has 4 shades in it. The palette is secured with a magnet inside and an extra carton for extra safety. The packaging design might seem a little too fancy for some people, with blues and pinks everywhere, not to mention an illustration which I assumed as the picture of Shrinkle (Sugarpill CEO) and her white furry friend. A design which can fulfill the taste of a clown whore, like me.

OK, so I am now trying to start reviewing each color. I promise, although I'm such a fan of Sugarpill, I'll try to be as honest as possible.

Sweetheart Palette

sugarpill-addict-to-pretty-palettes-burning-hearts-heart-breaker-sweetheart-esybabsy-review

Top to bottom: Dollipop, Afterparty, Midori, Tako

Dollipop has a matte finishing. It the cutest and dreamiest vibrant hot pink I have ever seen. I just can't compare the color and its pigmentation to any other pink shades in my collection. Simply amazing! Afterparty is a bright turquoise blue with a semi-pearly sheen on it. The pigmentation with or without base are equally amazing. Midori is a vibrant green. The finishing is semi-pearly, just like Afterparty. The pigmentation is medium, but looks better with an eye base. Tako is legend. It is a pure matte white. It is mentioned as one of the best white ever, but too bad I don't experience the same thing with this one.

Burning Hearts Palette

sugarpill-addict-to-pretty-palettes-burning-hearts-heart-breaker-sweetheart-esybabsy-review

Top to Bottom: Poison Plum, Love+, Buttercupcake, Flamepoint

Poison Plum is a deep purple with a semi-pearly sheen. I sometimes mistake this with 2AM, and visa versa. But Poison Plum is definitely a lot darker. I often use this to create bruise effect when making SFX make up. Great pigmentation and even greater with an eye base. Love+ is the brightest and truest red I have ever own. But the pan is kinda hard, not buttery and its pigmentation is surely need a good eye base. Buttercupcake is a bright matte yellow. Yes it is opaque and quite pigmented for a yellow eyeshadow. Although it is not really pigmented, but so far this one is the most pigmented yellow shade I have ever seen. Flamepoint is a vibrant matte orange. I can say Poison Plum is the most pigmented color from this palette, while others are so so.

Heart Breaker Palette

sugarpill-addict-to-pretty-palettes-burning-hearts-heart-breaker-sweetheart-esybabsy-review

Top to Bottom: Mochi, 2AM, Velocity, Acidberry

Mochi is a matte minty green/blue. It has a very nice pigmentation despite its light color. I wear this quite often because it compliments my skin tone. Like, I can wear some blue without looking like an '80s movie star. 2AM is a matte purple with iridescent result. It has a great pigmentation and this one is a more wearable dark purple compared to Poison Plum. Velocity is a vibrant blue. It's not very pigmented when applied without eye base but surprisingly turns to a very opaque result with eye base. The comparison is so dense. This is the least shade to my favorite list because it's too bright for me. Acidberry is a matte lime green with a slightly pearl sheen. Not very good pigmentation without an eye base.

***

So overall, I like them a lot. I just can't decide which one is better. As I mentioned before, they vary in texture and pigmentation. But one thing I know, although some of them are quite powdery but I don't experience any fall out during the application. The pans are quite hard and not as buttery as some other brands. Several colors will also leave stains on your lid like 2AM, Dollipop, and Poison Plum. Basically any color with pink and purple hues in it will stain.

Each palette cost USD 34.00 on its official website and around IDR 490K when sold in Indonesia. Damn... I bought them when it was IDR 380K something (they were on sale).  I know the price is actually out of my league and I saved up a lot to purchase them. I definitely won't use this to do my clients' make up. Nope. They are just... well, toys exclusively for me.

In short, these palettes are good toys for you who love playing with bright colors. Although there are several dupes in the market, like creative Me Palette by Coastal Scents or Sleek Eyeshadow palettes.

Below is a collage of eye makeup I created using these palettes only. Except for the eyebrows and eyeliner, of course.

The shade I got is Natural Beige. The shade was chosen by KBJ and The Face Shop. So, I hope this one suits my skin tone.

The compact is equipped with a plastic separator to separate the air puff and the cushion itself. Keeping the puff dry and protecting the cushion hygiene.

the-face-shop-oil-control-water-cushion-natural-beige-v203-review-esybabsy

When it's brand new, make sure you find this paper seal underneath the plastic separator. This makes sure your product haven't been used before. Well... not really actually. Someone might actually reseal it even after using this. :)

This is the cushion. Simply push the puff to the cushion to release the product, then pat it onto your face. The idea of a foundation or BB cushion was actually comes from a water cushion stationery. In case you're wondering.

the-face-shop-oil-control-water-cushion-natural-beige-v203-review-esybabsy

The puff itself is very soft and very useful to apply the product evenly, without using any additional brush or beauty blender. I assume this one is not just a regular puff.

the-face-shop-oil-control-water-cushion-natural-beige-v203-review-esybabsy

The consistency is quite runny, not thick. This also ease me to blend the product. You can also smell a refreshing aroma coming out of the product.

the-face-shop-oil-control-water-cushion-natural-beige-v203-review-esybabsy

Left: Bare face
Right: With TFS Cushion only

This is the result on my not-so-bare face. Yes, I already put on some contact lenses and drew my eyebrows. But the rest are purely bare. You can see my really heavy under eye bags and circles, that can be covered almost perfectly. I don't use any additional under-eye concealer for daily use, just patting some loose powder on my T-zone would be enough.
Ya buat sehari-hari masak harus full coverage sih.

the-face-shop-oil-control-water-cushion-natural-beige-v203-review-esybabsy

The shade Natural Beige luckily is suitable for my NC25 skin tone. The coverage is medium, and it is buildable depending on your needs.

I use this on a non air conditioned environment for 8 hours and find my nose tip gets oily in just a few hours but the rest of my face were doing fine. FYI, my nose tip gets oily easily. I don't experience any allergy or breakout during the time I wear the for almost one month. Well, I do breakout when the products I wear are too heavy.

The finishing result on me is matte. But maybe since it's a water cushion, I does not feel heavy on my skin.Once after the product is finished, I would consider repurchasing the refill

Having a foundation cushion is also very practical, because usually I would use my foundation/BB cream before I leave the house and put on the rest of the makeup in the car to save time, or else I have to bring the whole bottle of foundation and a brush. But by having this cushion, I just need to bring it with me and do all of my make up routine on my way. Very practical and save a lot of time! Once after the product is finished, I would consider repurchasing the refill.

Review: Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick (Rose Velvet, Ginger Rose, Fleshtone)

Lately I need to buy lipsticks that are easier to apply, something that I can swipe in 2 seconds without looking at the mirror (Oh yeah, I'm very good at this). And when I dropped by at Dan+Dan makeup store, I decided to buy some nudes from Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick series. But since I couldn't decide which one, so I bought four of them. Three were from Super Lustrous series, and another one was from Revlon Matte Lipstick. I'm not sure whether that matte lipstick comes in the same series as this one, so I wrote a separate review about it. Read it here.

REVLON-SUPER-LUSTRUOUS-LIPSTICK-ROSE-VELVET-GINGER-ROSE-FLESHTONE-REVIEW-ESYBABSY

Their packaging remains almost the same from when the first time I bought this, if I'm not mistaken. It's a classic type lipstick black tube with a golden strip and Revlon symbol on it. The only thing that change is probably the top of the cap which is now comes in a transparent plastic. It used to be all covered in black I suppose.

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick comes in several different unique formula: pearl, matte, sheer, and creme are the ones I recognize. The creme one is my favorite since the rest of them are quite tricky to apply and a bit drying on me. They come in 82 different shades in all different formula. But since it's impossible for me to buy all of them, I only bought three: Fleshtone, Ginger Rose, and Rose Velvet.

ROSE VELVET is a cool combination between rosy pink and brown, but the brown seems more dominant than the pink.

GINGER ROSE is like the lighter version of Rose Velvet, they're like sisters. But this one has greater amount of pink than the brown itself.

FLESHTONE

REVLON-SUPER-LUSTRUOUS-LIPSTICK-ROSE-VELVET-GINGER-ROSE-FLESHTONE-REVIEW-ESYBABSY

FLESHTONE is a warm neutral brown. There's also a light touch of peach in it. This one is the least to my favorite since this is too brown for me, but most Indonesian girls would probably love this color since this works on the largest spectrum of skin tone among these three.

***

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick has a smooth and creamy formula. It doesn't dry my lips, and comes with amazing pigmentation. And because of their creaminess, they're not transfer resistant, so beware with your teeth. Btw, I'm talking about the ones with creme formula. I used to try some mattes, pearls, and sheers from these series, and I found them all disappointing in terms of formula, but the shades are all equally beautiful.

This lipsticks stays on my lips for several hours and still need reapplication after eating. I don't feel any discomfort wearing this, no sticky feeling, and no weird smell. Until the end of the day, I don't find any flakes at the inside of my lips, which means this doesn't dry at all.

I would highly reccomend these lipsticks for those of you newbies to lipsticks, they are opaque and smooth in just one swipe. I bought these in Dan+Dan makeup store for IDR 35K each. It's worth every penny. Btw, what's your super lustrous favorite?
