Review: Princess Mint Softlenses (Purple)

I have multi colored softlenses. Usually I picked what to wear by closing my eyes and picked them randomly. If I'm lucky enough, I can wear the right color for the right occasion. But if I'm not, you can guess what happens next. You know... pink lenses on wedding, or boring brown for hanging out. Something like that.

These babes were bought months ago as supplies. Since some of my collections are expired already, so I think I'll open these.

One thing I hate from Princess softlens is the packaging. Sheesh.... I hope they were packed in blisters. I usually have a hard time opening them by cutting my fingers.

Unlike her sister (Princess Universe, review here), these softlenses have the power maxed to minus 8 only. My diopter numbers are actually a bit more than that. But just a little bit. It is a small problem for me, though. But I've been wanting this series so bad. I guess I'll wear this when I don't have to drive at night.

I bought purple... kyaaa! Anyway, they're available in other colors: pink, brown, grey, blue, and green.

The pattern in close up. Well, you can't actually call this a pattern... it's more like a purple pigment blotted to a softlen. So don't expect to much of it. The enlarging effect is medium since there is no dark ring either.

This series were inspired by the eyes of those cute Powerpuff Girls characters' eyes.

I have been wearing softlenses for about 10 years, and began wearing colored softlenses since 5 years ago. Since then I have tried many colored lenses and no brand can beat Acuvue regarding their comfort. And for me these Princess series are the second best after Acuvue. I wore these for more than 8 hours, no solution drop, and didn't hurt my eyes. Other brands usually would hurt and make my eyes red even after wearing them for just an hour. Or even when they were brand new ones or claimed especially made for sensitive eyes. >_<

At the first times you apply this, it may not feel comfortable so you have to rub more with solution drop or even adding one drop of liquid into the lense before putting them to your eyes. I always, always stumble upon the application, unlike other softlenses that would feel great right away.

The result is semi-bright, so don't expect natural looking eyes when wearing these, although the bright look won't be as obvious as Princess Universe series are. At least, if you're looking for bright colored lenses without worrying to look like a cosplayer, these ones are great findings. Although... Yeah this purple color is an attention catcher, and I don't care at all what others might think. But if you do, please choose color more suitable to your personality.

Some safety tips from me regarding colored softlenses:
  1. For beginners, choose the smallest diameter. Usually it's 14.5 mm. The larger, the less comfortable they are.
  2. Wear them not more than 4 hours at first. You can continue if your eyes doesn't react negatively.
  3. Rinse the softlenses with water solution before and after each usage.
  4. Do not rinse your softlenses with tap water or any liquid other than solution water.
  5. Do not use different brand of solution water for one softlens.
  6. Use eyedrop for softlenses whenever you feel your eyes dried, not more than 2-3 times a day. Application more than that may be harmful to your eye system.
  7. Wear them before wearing your makeup and remove them before removing your makeup.
  8. Before wearing them, make sure your softlenses are not inside out. The correct side usually will bend like a perfect bowl, but the incorrect one will look like a plate with its point poking outside.
  9. Do not, do not, do not wear torn softlenses nor expired ones.
  10. Softlenses are to be used by you only. Do not lend nor borrow them!

Verdicts:
  • Bad packaging, blisters are better though.
  • Poor patern.
  • Semi bright and unnatural look.
  • Medium enlarging effect (no dark ring).
  • Great comfort (at least for me).
  • Detailed spec:
    • Diameter : 15mm
    • Water Contain : 52%
    • Produced in : Korea
    • Life spam : up to 12 months, with max care.
  • Where to buy: various onlines stores.
  • How much: around IDR 150K (USD 16), price may vary.

Grades for these: 4.5 out of 5!

Examples on my eyes:

Left: with camera flash
Right: natural lighting

The whole face examples. Hope you can see it, i took it with camera phone in a moving car. Well, I never bring a camera along with me. Berat gitu looooh...

My May 2014 Haul

This month's gluttony is a bit overflowing, I must say. But, to be honest, I mugged my closest persons in my life to purchase some of them FOR ME because this month's supposed to be my birth month, turning 33 years old. Gah!

Here they are.

Marcks' Face Powder in White
It's a local pharmacy face powder, one of the oldest and legendary product claimed to be one of the safest products by many dermatologists. The shade is White. I used this for my last May 2014 IBB MUC to create a white Geisha face. Not for everyday use since powder always make me sneeze.

NYX Creme Blusher in Tea Rose.

Snazaroo Face Painting in Sparkle Green.
Mugged my husband when we went to Gramedia bookstore. I mixed this with liquid foundation to create a witch face a few days ago, which I failed!

MIZZU eyeliner pen in Brown.
I love this local felt-tip eyeliner. I had one in black, guess I'll try the brown as well.

La Tulipe Cover Foundation for Oily Skin (I forgot the shade...)
I only have one face foundation: Maybelline, with a shade too dark and too oily for my face. All base makeup I had were BB Creams and CC Creams. I do need a face foundation. This one's La Tulipe, a local brand. Many B-Bloggers reviewed this cheap product as one of the best. Let's prove it.

Koji Eyelashes Glue in Clear.
This clear glue is to replace my old Elise glue which already dried. I must say, this is the best eyelashes glue ever. Cheaper than Elise, but with far better quality. Smells good too. Love the smell of alcohol, it's sooo refreshing.

Coastal Scents Contour brush
Tammia Crease Brush
Tammia Foundation Brush
I have quite a lot of cosmetic brush in my drawer, but they are all abal-abal you know. Felt hurt when the brush touched my face. Tammia is my favorite brush since a very long time ago, good quality with reasonable price. I bought that Coastal Scents before I remembered about Tammia, if only I did, I wouldn't bought that.

Maybelline Great Lash Mascara in Clear
I had ones back in Senior High School (not Maybelline) to brush my eyebrows. I'm so glad to finally have a clear mascara again. Thanks, Mom!

Sariayu Lipstick in B-04
Nude shade.

Sariayu Lipstick in B-01
The shade is coral, perhaps, a bit orangey tone.

Kryolan TV Paint Stick in White
Mugged my mom to purchase this for me. The shade is white. Yes, clown white. I'm still learning to do my makeup. One big task for me is to hide my eyebrows. I still failed so many times on this. Maybe this will help. I hope...

Sari Ayu Moisturizer in Putih Langsat
These are the gifts for purchasing a certain amount of Sari Ayu products, maybe. Though I'm not quite sure about something, are these for face or body?

Bulu mata palsu lusinan tanpa merk.
And finally, some random undbranded fake eyelashes. Natural and Thick ones. Kinda regret buying these. Already used 2 pairs of that Thick series, and they were pretty heavy and hard, that it was kinda hard for me to open my eyelids. LOL. You can check out my May 2014 EOTD, and most of them were my eyes with small shape. That's because I hardly lift my eyelids. >_<

Those are some of my haul for this month. I don't mean to brag about what I had, or the things I was capable of, though. It's merely sharing and giving you ideas about beauty products to buy this month.

Insha Allah.

My 'work station'. No, I don't have a beauty desk...

Purple Ombre Lips Part 2

I did create a purple ombre lips some time ago but some people said it wasn't such a wearable look. Now I'll try to blend that dark purple color with shocking pink to get a more... Well, normal look.

And this is the result. Ignore the necklace. My hormonal effect made me a bit sultry  lunatic that day.

How to:
  1. This is my real lip line. Moisturize them.
  2. Frame your lips with black liner, you can exagerate your actual lip line. Ombre style looks better in plumpy big lips.
  3. Apply dark purple lipstick on your outter lips area.
  4. Fill the inner lips with shocking pink lipstick.
  5. Pout several times to blend the color.
  6. Retouch all the colors using lip brush to achieve a gradient effect. And you are done!

Final look:

And a little more joke with my 24K diamond ring.
Actually, no... It was fake.

The tools I abuse obsessively:
  • Artistry automatic eyeliner pencil (Black)
  • Etude House Blooming Lips Talk (PK 013)
  • WetnWild Mega Last Lipstick (Vamp It Up)

And yeah... In the end, I had to remove all the lipstick stains on those accessories above... Turned out it wasn't such a glamorous idea.

Rafflesia Arnoldii

I made this trial to answer one of my mini collaboration challenge with other Indonesian Beauty Bloggers by creating a themed EOTD for a week. This one belonged to Tuesday theme: Rafflesia Arnoldii.

It kinda gross me out remembering this parasyte that has the odor like a dead body, and what kind of look I can create based on this?

I guess this was the best I did in my imagination.

Here's how:
  1. Using red lip pencil, draw your eyebrows and apply eye primer.
  2. Apply black, coral red, and carrot shade on your upper eyelids. Blend.
  3. Using lip pencil daw a raw line to create a flower shape, try to connect the line with eyeshadow above.
  4. Fill it with coral eyeshadow.
  5. Using white pencil, draw white dots then top it with white eyeshadow using a pointy sponge brush.
  6. Using black pencil, draw black shadow to create 3D effect, then smudge.
  7. Draw black eyeliner, apply mascara, and the falsies.

The abused tools:
  • Revlon Lip Liner (Red)
  • Coastal Scents eyeshadow 120 color pallette (black, coral, carrot, white)
  • NYX Retractable Eyelner (white)
  • NYX Eyeshadow Base (matte white)
  • Artistry Automatic Eyeliner Pen (black)
  • Maybelline The Falsies Mascara (black)
  • Princess Mint Softlens (purple)
  • Koji Eyelashes Glue (clear)
  • Unbranded falsies

Of all the parts I draw that day, the eyebrow was my favorite one. Wish I can wear that outside.

Oh, well. See you again. Smooch!

Gender Bender

I wanna play with my face today and creating something what I thought as a man's face. And after contouring here and there, these are the results.

I took off that annoying lip ring.

Rai ne mas mas tenan yo...

After I wiped off that itchy beard!

Too bad I didn't get the chance to make the pictorial since I was totally clueless what to do on the first place, but more or less these are what I did to create this look:
  1. Contour your cheek bone and forehead. Blend.
  2. Contour your nose, eyelids, eye bags, and laugh line. Blend.
  3. Draw your eyebrow with brown pencil and top it with brown eyeshadow. Exagerate the line to create bushy eyebrows.
  4. Using black mascara, draw your moustache or beard on wanted area.
  5. Wear boyish procs like sunglasses, face piercings, wigs, or a beanie hat, etc, and pose!

The tools:
  • NYX single eyeshadow in Brown (as contouring)
  • Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse Foundation in Natural
  • Maybelline Clear Smooth Cake Powder in Light
  • Silky Girl eyebrow pencil in Brown
  • Maybelline The Falsies Mascara in Black (to draw beard)

The wigs, I really need to have a boyish wig by the way. I'll redo this makeup play and post a better result.

See ya!

Tutorial: Nude Ombre Lips

Looking back the tutorials I've made recently were all about neon colors or dark shade. I think I'm gonna do something about nude colors. Let's start with my lips first. Then maybe, if I had the time, and the mood, I will try making a nude eye makeup (because I'm soooo into bright colors!).

This is what we're talking about.

Although it's nude, it's pretty sultry when you wear this style on your everyday activities. Kinda adult look. Okay, let's play with your lips!

How to:
  1. Moisturize your lips.
  2. Outline your lips using brown pencil. You can use eyeliner if you don't have a lipliner. Exagerate the line a bit more to create big lips illussion.
  3. Fill your lips with nude brown lipstick.
  4. Apply white creamy eyeshadow on your inner lips.
  5. Pout several times to blend the color.
  6. Retouch all the colors using lip brush and pout more to achieve a gradient shade. And you are done!

Spamming time!

Abused tools:
  • Silky Girl eyeliner (brown)
  • Revlon Plump Sexxxxy Lipstick (Sensual/003)
  • NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil (Milk)

Is the look nude enough?

Very Inspiring Blogger Award

Morning (it is now morning, at least)!

Untuk kesekian kali nya aku dapet award lagi. Yeay, seneng deh.

I knew her on my beginning days as a beauty blogger and knowing such a familiar and friendly girl like her did really motivate me to write more and even better. Can I nominate this back to you, Shinta?

Orright, these are the rules for this award:

  1. Link the person who moninated you.
  2. List and display the rules.
  3. Share seven facts about yourself.
  4. Nominate other blogs and let them know they have been nominated.

And now, these are the blogs I find inspiring for me:

And here are some facts about me:

  1. I was born on May 18, 1981 as the first child of two girls. My little sister is a more grown up person, though.
  2. I'm not a very good writter nor drawer, but I do love coloring. So maybe you'll find my posts are not very endearing ones regarding their words.
  3. I used to have waist-length hair and cut it to Pixie hair in a day. When I was back to work the next day, everyone in the room was stoned and stared at me. It was quite a ruckus, and a pretty queer experience for me.
  4. I love studying English, corresponding with snail letters, collecting stamps all over the world, and collecting Mangas.
  5. In my rebellious days as a teen, I used to pierce my ears and lips, wearing all black, and listening to death metals. But I did grew up, okay :D I'm much much calmer now.
  6. I once diagnozed as kurang gizi by a doctor, because I barely ate and spent most of my pocket money collecting Marilyn Manson and Sailor Moon stuff.
  7. Adore Japanese modern sub-cultures.
That's all for now. Thanks for reading!
