Comic Make Up Collaboration

Selamat datang,

Okeh, sekian chit-chat gak pentingnya. This is a beauty blog, not an art book. Jadi mari kita bahas makeupnya aja.

Tapi aku nggak suka mukaku dititik-titikin begitu, kayak cacar jadinya. Hahaha... Namun setelah makeup baru setengah jadi, kok kayaknya jadi kurang nendang efek komiknya, jadi aku tetep tambahin bintik-bintik meskipun gak di seluruh muka.

Sorry, I had sooo much fun with the callouts. Teehee!

Abused tools:
  • Max Factor Facefinity 3 in 1 Foundation
Etude House Color Lips Fit RD301
  • Maybelline Clear & Smooth Face Powder (Light)
  • La Tulipe Body Paint (koneng, ireng, biru, abang)
  • Snazaroo Face Paint (Clown White)
***

Sebenarnya beberapa waktu lalu aku pernah bikin Pop Art makeup juga, cuma beda tema, bukan komik. Tapi... apa ya, nggak tau deh. Muka lampu disko kali ya? Hahahah. Maap aku crop habis-habisan, lagi gak berjilbab soalnya.

  • Biru: Body Paint La Tulipe
  • Shocking Pink: Body Paint La Tulipe
  • Black: Body Paint La Tulipe
  • White: Snazaroo Face Paint
  • Baby pink: La Tulipe shocking pink mix with Viva White Body Paint

Btw, jangan tanya gimana proses mmbersihkannya. Ampuuun, membuat frustasi sekali. Besoknya jerawat juga muncul atu biji. Yahhhelaah. Tapi gapapa deh, karena proses pembuatannya amat sangat menyenangkan.

^_^

Review: Max Factor Max Effect Gloss Cube (Wild Cherry No. 09)

I got this product for free by purchasing some items in its counter. Since it was free, I underestimated it a bit at first. Well, some brands just won't let go their good products for free just like that. But I guess I was wrong, let's find out why.

This beauty comes in a cube transparent container. Reminds me of Make Over Liquid Lip Color that I reviewed some time ago, don't you think?

Just found out that Max Factor is a part of P&G company. This product can last up to 6 months after opened. Unfortunately, the quantity, expiry date, and ingredient list are also missing in the packaging. However, this is what I found from its official website:

Dimethicone, Polyisobutene, Mica, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Calcium Sodium Borosilicate, Copernicia Cerifera Cera, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Tocopherol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Butylene Glycol, Caprylyl Glycol, Hexylene Glycol, Phenoxyethanol, Parfum, Calcium Aluminum Borosilicate, Silica, Silica Dimethyl Silylate, Tin Oxide, Linalool, Geraniol, [+/- CI 15850, CI 19140, CI 77891, CI 77491, CI 77499, CI 77492, CI 42090, CI 45380, CI 75470]

My shade is No 09 or Wild Cherry. This is the darkest variant I found in the counter. There are 12 shades available. However, the shade availability might be different in some counries. I guess this shade is available in Asia only, perhaps? Luckily this dark red is the one you can find in Indonesia.

The applicator is a doe-foot one although it is more rounded than most applicator like this, not very pointy.

This is a blue toned red, just like its name taken from a blue toned red fruit. The shade is just so pretty that it would match to be applied as Korean gradient lips. Although Max Factor claim this as a lip gloss but the consistency is thick and solid, just like a liquid lipstick. There's a hint of fruity scent although just a bit, it's almost odorless, if I may say.

How it looked like on my lips in both lightings, used as gradient lips and full lips:

The finished look is creamy. A bit surprising though, considering this is a lip gloss, not liquid lipstick.

***

I didn't feel any drying sensation at all nor clumpy result even at the very end of day when I had to wipe this. It also not sticky and didn't feel heavy at all although the consistency is extremely thick, in fact it's sooo comfortable. When I apply this, it's very easy to achieve an even result. Once the liquid touched my lips, it absorbed just like that and it doesn't easily transfer, especialy to your teeth. It's also very long lasting even after I took a meal, it didn't fade much.

One thing I gotta tell you, this won't bleed to lines just like most liquid lip colorant with vibrant shades. So far this is the most comfortable lippie I've ever tried. I dare to compare this to several high end products I own like Dior, MUFE, and Lime Crime, and this product just beat them all in terms of formula, comfy, and staying power. Definitely worth buying.

Since I got this for free, I don't know how much it cost. But I guarantee that he price is almost the same with other drugstore products such as Revlon and Maybelline. I'm just not quite sure whether this is a lip cream, a lip gloss, or a liquid lipstick.

Verdicts:
  • Wild Cherry is a vibrant vampire blue toned red
  • Thick consistency
  • None sticky formula
  • Doesn't easily transfer
  • Long lasting
  • Doesn't clump
  • Doesn't bleed into lines, so lip liner application is not necessary
  • Doesn't dry my lips and quite hydrating
  • Covers lips evenly and uniformly
  • No expiry date, ingredient list, and quantity on the container
 Score:
5 out of 5

***

Oh, before I forgot, here's an example of my makeup play using this product to create gradient lips and add the bloody effect on some parts of the wounds. It'll only take 6 months before this product is expired, so why don't we make the use of it to the max? LOLs.

Review: Revlon Powder Blush in Pink Peony No. 17

Aku inget banget, selama 11 bulan ngeblog baru dua kali review blusher. Hehehe.

My shade is Pink Peony No. 17.

Kalo dibuka seperti inilah penampakannya.

So kalo cuma digosok-gosok pake tangan berkali-kali, warnanya susah keluar. Harus pake kuasnya, itupun tetep harus diusap berkali-kali supaya warnanya keliatan. Well, ada untungnya sih blusher model gini.

Warnanya soft banget. Nuansanya lebih ke peach. Pokokna favorit banget deh sama Pink Peony ini. Bikin muka langsung fresh seketika tanpa membuat keliatan seperti abis ditampar ama bini muda.

Kalo soal ngomongin daya tahan... hmmm biasa aja sih. Medium lah. Kalo aku pake bepergian tanpa wudhu sih bisa bertahan sampe 6 jam lamanya. Pake wudhu pun masih tahan lah, gak pudar-pudar amat. Beda halnya kalo keringetan ya, karena dulu jaman kuliah pas aku pake ini ya cepet luntur. Kan kuliah keringetan hehehe.

***

Asli jadinya unyu banget!

Review: NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss (Natural/LG122)

I think I bought this months ago and I'm pretty sure this product is near its expiry date. LOLs. So let's review it before I send this babe six feet underground.

The bottle is quite simple yet sleek, with transparent bottle and black plastic cap.

A little extra point for this cute tiny bow on top of the cap.

My shade is Natural or LG122.
This product available in 39 wearable shades ranges from shiny to glittery ones.

Do you notice that the applicator is a bit more bended than regular lipgloss?

The spongy doe-foot applicator.

The shade Natural is what I'll describe as nude brown color with a hint of pink. Best for fair complexion. It's very beautiful, wearable, and since it's nude, a dark smokey eye makeup will compliment it. The consistency is very very thick, and I guess this will turn very sticky once applied to your lips.

What I hate the most from this product is the smell. From reviews I read online, most of them described it as a sweet cherry fragrance. While for me it's more like a tobacco smell. Blegh! Reminds me a lot of a cigarette box when freshly opened. You like it? Me no, no, no. Besides, how cherry and tobacco smell relate to each other is still a mistery for me.

Bare lips.

The texture itself is very creamy and the finished look is not just creamy, but very very shiny. It's also very pigmented for a lip gloss. But another thing I dislike is the stickiness. It doesn't seem to disappear even after quite some time.

Since it's a claimed to be a lip gloss, it can't cover my real natural lip color. As you can see from the picture above, it settles into my lip lines. So you can't expect a full coverage when you wear this product alone, although by doing that won't make you less pretty. What I'm trying to say is, the color will still pop out.

If you want a better coverage, you can wear lipliner in advance. Or you can also wear similar lipstick and top it with this lip gloss. Some lipsticks I know to have similar shade with this product is Wet n Wild in shade Bare It All and Silky Girl Lipstick in shade Fig.

How it looked like in natural lighting.

However this lip gloss doesn't stay too long on my lips. Well, It's lip gloss once again, what would you expect? By the fourth hour, it fade away and once it fade it'll leave some ugly clumps inside my lips. This lipgloss also doesn't moisturize my lips nor drying them.

Btw, this bad clumpy experience also happened to me with another shade of Mega Shine Lip Gloss in the shade Ice Princess (LG 162 which I burried already since it already had that funny smell). That shade comes in glittery texture.

I bought this online from a seller in kaskus.co.id and can't seem to remember the seller name nor how much this product cost me, but in www.nyxcosmetics.com it cost around USD 5.00. Maybe in Indonesia it will be around IDR 70K perhaps? I'm not so sure.

Overall, this product is not a favorit of mine since I tried so many lip poducts with better texture and comes with better price. But, sheesh.. I really love the shade. I guess it's a love-hate relationship afterall, is it?

Above picture is one of my makeup look I created some time ago using NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss in shade Natural. Well, I did added a brown eyebrow pencil underneath (yes, eyebrow pencil! I haven't got myself a brown lipliner at the time) and it helped to create a more solid coverage although at the same time darkened the actual color a little bit.

Thank you for reading.
Hope this review is useful.

Review: BH Cosmetics Eyes On The '80s Eyeshadow Palette

I bought this months ago to replace my dying Coastal Scents 120 eyeshadow palette. Why dying? Because I bought it 5 years ago when I was pregnant. The texture still looks good until this very second, actually. But I just don't wanna take the risk of applying expired eyeshadows onto my eyelids. So, well, I think I have to send it 6 feet underground. Too bad since I felt like haven't played with it too much.

And, so, why this palette once again? Why not repurchasing exactly the same palette? I don't know. I don't always have an explainable reason for every thing I do. If I want it, then I want it.

Actually, there are several palette coming from this serries, they are from the '60s, '70s, '90s, and this one I own, '80s. Why '80s? Well, simply because I love bright colors which this palette have them all. The packaging design really represents what become a trend in that 1980s era. Jaman dengan gaya yang paling 'ngehe', if I may say. LOLs.

The palette packed in a matte carton box, not plastic, so it's not heavy. It's also equipped with a hidden magnet seal. But I would suggest to put extra tape seal if you bring this for traveling since I think the magnet is not very secure.

There's a thick plastic attached on the pallete for extra safety. And don't worry, the plastic is sticked.

There are 30 shades available ranges from bright neon shades to earthly colors, ranges from mattes to shimmeries, but I have to warn you that shimmery colors are more dominant. So, you might hate this if you are a fan of those ultra matte eyeshadows.

The warning saya it's for external use only. So you cannot eat this. LOLs.

Here are the complete swatches. I have to say that the actual colors are so much darker in real life. Appology for taking the colors in natural lighting. My camera captures better pictures with flash. Sorry... And btw, I didn't use any eye primer/base in advance, just to test its own performance.

Populated by variety of matte neon colors.

  1. Bright orange. Medium pigmentation. Matte.
  2. Bright yellow. Medium pigmentation. Matte.
  3. Light green. Low pigmentation. Matte.
  4. Light green, but darker than #3. High pigmentation. Powdery. Matte.
  5. Dark purple. High pigmentation. Powdery. Matte
  6. Dark purple. Low pigmentation. Matte. Great for Halloween eye makeup.

Also populated by matte neon colors.

7.    True red. High pigmentation. Matte. Powdery.
8.    Fucshia. High pigmentation. Matte. Powdery.
9.    Shocking barbie pink. Low pigmentation. Matte.
10.  Gold. High pigmentation. Shimmery.
11.  Lime. Poor pigmentation. Powdery. Matte.
12.  Leaf green. High pigmentation. Shimmer. Buttery texture.

This range is full of turqoise blue.

13.   Light purple. Poor pigmentation. Shimmer. *Iridescent.
14.   Blue turqoise. High pigmentation. Buttery texture. Matte.
15.   Blue turqoise. High pigmentation. Buttery texture. Shimmery.
16.   Blue turqoise but lighter than #15. High pigmentation. Buttery texture. Shimmery.
17.   Very light blue. High pigmentation. Buttery texture. Shimmery.
18.   Blue. Similar to shade #5 but iridescent. High pigmentation. Buttery texture.

*Iridescent color: the color that has 3D effect, may look a bit different if you see it from another angle.

The line is filled with pink and purple.

19.   Purple. The color is actually darker in real life. High pigmentation. Shimmery. Buttery texture.
20.   Light purple. Low pigmentation. Shimmery. Iridescent.
21.   Red. High pigmentation. Shimmery.
22.   Light red. Medium pigmentation. Buttery texture. Shimmery.
23.   Baby pink. Medium pigmentation, looks matte in the pan, but shimmery in real swatch.
24.   Champagne. A very pretty color. Medium pigmentation. Buttery texture. Shimmery.

This range owns by toned down earthly colors.

25.   Fleshtone pink. Low pigmentation. Iridescent. Shimmery.
26.   Fleshtone. Low pigmentation. Matte. Looks invisible since the shade is the same with my skin.
27.   Taupe or ashy brown. Low pigmentation. Matte.
28.   Dark reddish brown. Low pigmentation. Matte.
29.   Reddish brown. High pigmentation. Shimmery.
30.   Black. High pigmentation. Very very shimmery, or if I may say, glittery.

***

Overall, this palette is a good find if you aim for the balance between neon and earthly colors. However, the shimmery ones are seemed to be more dominant than the matte ones, even some of the neutral ones are shimmery, so I think this is more suitable for creating colorful and eye catching looks.

The pigmentation varies from low to high. But the lows one can be easily tricked by using eye primer in advance. I've tried that even to the most sheer colors, it worked pretty well.

One thing this palette lacks of is the black and white shades. The black is shimmery, it should have come in matte color, and the white... it's a pretty bad thing that it is not available in this palette. So yeah, having this palette alone is not enough, you must buy more to complete the whole color collection.

This palette is available in bhcosmetics.com, also in several local online stores, with variable price. The official price was USD 19.95, but while this post is published it's on sale for only USD 8.95.

Okay, before I end this, here are the eye makeups I created using this palette. I can create countless looks by just using three-shade palette, let alone 30! LOLs.

Please enjoy!
